It's taken bloody ages but never gave this a chance. Listened to it in full last night and WOW. Downloaded it and have listened to it god knows how many times. Great harmonies and killer chorus.

Legally I hope #FlatlineoniTunesNow

  • 2 weeks later...

Are they cryptically singing about the Sugababes/their past?

The change was obvious, so miscellaneous

We used to live it up

Remember baby

The change was obvious = line up changes, obvious due to the pressures, their ages, the harshness of the industry

Miscellaneous = a reference to the "random" girls replacing the 3 friends,

We used to live it up = at the start, before they were completely controlled by the record companies/managers/bosses

Maybe they don't say it publicly or it could be a "coincidence" like Mutya's lyrics in Song 4 Mutya.

Lovely performance.

Still annoyed R1 didn't playlist Flatline at all and at it's general flopping. With that in mind, it's time to move on girls. Why aren't we concentrating on single 2 instead of performing Flatline again, it's not gonna be a hit. Let's just step over it and move forwards.

I thought that was obvious from the start? You didn't even need to hear the song / read the lyrics to assume the first song they do would be tongue-in-cheek giving Sug4sluts/their former producers etc. a middle finger.

Stay gone, darling I won't hang on

I can feel the flatline

This is SO about them all leaving Sugababes at one point, even if I'm ridiculously bad at picking up hidden meaning in songs.

Dropped from their record label.

It's not 100% sure though.

But they seem to be parted ways with Shoshanna / Edge Publicity.

This is old news. Someone said it on Popjustice last week.
Oh wow, I did not expect them to get dropped. Did their record label really think 'Flatline' would actually do well then?
They got a lot of interest from the music press and reviewers/bloggers though... I'm sure they were excepting a much bigger hit.
Good news :yahoo:

Oh you old bitter queen.

Who f***ing needs a label anyway. They can do it on their own!

It's the label's own fault -_- they f***ed up the release bad, they caused their fail imo
Oh god, what a shame I really wanted to hear the album :(
They should just release it through PledgeMusic/Kickstarter/etc.
Tbh I don't fear of anything after waiting for the release of Sophie Ellis-Bextor 'Make a Scene'. Now that was even a bigger mess than this. I think (if they are really dropped) MKS will be given their album (maybe minus a Sia track) and they may release it on their own, a la the mentioned Sophie. And Sophie is now releasing another album on her own, so everything is possible!
