They were playing The Common Linnets album in the music shop in Munich earlier, it alerted me to the fact that they sold it there which was good, obviously I bought it

Seems like it's getting a physical UK release next week, I doubt it'll do much but I suppose country is a genre more likely to sell on CD. Problem is, I doubt many hardcore country fans were watching Eurovision and the band haven't sadly had any exposure outside of that in the UK.

Does anyone know why the music channels don't play this (and Conchita) (Viva and mtvHits I think it was)

They say there's no official video but there has been for months...

Calm After The Storm has been added to the Radio 2 b-list, I always knew it would be perfect for them, I hope it gets a chart revival of some sort, or shifts the amazing album at least. It's a week late really but maybe this means that it won't be removed after a week and that the station are treating it as a 'normal song'.

:cheer:

In other news Ilse is promoting alongside some amerocan singer for The Common Linnets, while Waylon "hasn't commited" to anything after Eurovision and he's overwhelmed by the success. He hasn't decided what to do yet but he mainly wants to focus on his self financed album that'll be released in September

He's mad if he doesn't continue. The Common Linnets have the potential to be HUGE even in America with the right publicity, the album is perfect.

The Common Linnets was Ilse's project and she invited him to join her, so I kinda understand he wants to do his solo project too

But they've got such a big oppurtunity with this, I'd hate it if it'd be Ilse with someone else (which was kinda the plan as Ilse said multiple times that The Common Linnets might continue but not in the same line-up or something along those lines)

:cheer: Really hope it can get a boost now! The song is far too good to have a chart run of: 95-9-53-Out!

I agree. I can't recall another occasion of a UK radio station playlisting a non-winner, non-UK entry ever before so it's nice to see them treating it as a normal song!

Trouble in Paradise:

Waylon wants to talk to Ilse because she makes all the decisions and he doesn't get a look in. He wants equality. He is willing to delay his album but he wants part in the decisions too

And they've been called by US guys!!! I hope they figure this shit out soon

Drama! Ilse's songs on the album are better anyway, but they make more sense as a duo. And When Love Was King is a tune.

The Common Linnets have today announced a European tour for later this year, including 2 UK dates in London!

Ilse has been carrying on I think, and according to the tour announcement "alongside Ilse the tour will feature the considerable talents of American singer/songwriters Jake Etheridge, Matthew Crosby and Rob Crosby combined with Dutch singer/songwriter and Ilse’s co-producer for the album, JB Meijers."

It's a shame Waylon didn't continue though!

Also they are doing incredibly in german speaking countries.

Currently back up to #10 in the German chart, as well as #11 on Itunes at the moment

Re-entry at 51, while also being 57 on Itunes in Switzerland

Currently spending their 9th week in the top 10 in Austria, while they're #12 on Itunes

Aaaand...got my ticket, woohoo! Hope enough people go so that it doesn't get cancelled. I'm curious as to how many people will turn up!

It's also been No. 1 in Iceland for 3 weeks now on the official chart!

Apparently Alain Clark is going to represent us next year in Austria. Again, we're sending a well known singer in the Netherlands.

I would post a few of his best known and loved songs but I barely know anything by him and what I do know is crap.

edit: actually this song is half decent:

Not sure poppy jazz is the way to go at Eurovision though!

on the plus side I was also negative about Ilse and Waylon until I heard their entry, which was by far and away the best song of both of their careers.
