June 20, 201312 yr I never in a million years expected The Lumineers this high :o How do they have more YTD than total though? Edited June 20, 201312 yr by *Tim
June 20, 201312 yr They don't, look again! I'm not wearing my glasses, let's just keep it at that
July 10, 201312 yr Thanks for this! Hadn't seen the total sales for '21' this year yet. Beyond amazing. 17 Depeche Mode - Delta Machine [922,000 YTD/TOTAL] Wow, they're still genuinely HUGE somewhere (not in the US or UK though) May I ask what is the source? (in case I use these figures somewhere) Edited July 10, 201312 yr by SKOB
July 10, 201312 yr Author May I ask what is the source? (in case I use these figures somewhere) Source is here, it's updated every week so it's just a case of adding the figures together ^_^
July 23, 201311 yr Author Updated for week #29, apologies for lateness  Unfortunately when you're busy these things suffer but hopefully stuff won't get in the way from now on ^_^ Lots of interesting changes in this update, including the entries of Ciara and also Jay-Z, who I'm surprised to see is doing far better than Kanye.
July 27, 201311 yr Cool thread, thanks so much for putting it together! Definitely bookmarking for future reference. :) The source website isn't working for me, but does this include sales from every country or just (Western) Europe and America as I'm sure Japan has a very strong album market and going by the Oricon website alone a few of them should make the list never mind their sales outside of Japan added on... plus all(?) of the albums seem to be English speaking which also makes me wonder if Asia etc are missed out.
July 28, 201311 yr Very interesting countdown... just proves how low sales have become internationally compared to previous years...

I'm glad you like it ^_^ I'm not really certain as regards what countries Mediabase tracks, so I can't really answer your question properly :( Japan has representation here in the form of B'z, who have two Greatest Hits albums just outside the top 40. I'd imagine there just haven't been any proper mega sellers in Asia this year (acts over there generally have huge first weeks and then drop right off, I believe?), but I'm not very informed on the charts of Asia
August 1, 201311 yr Author Updated for week #30 - not too much going on this week but a 16 place rise for Jay-Z is notable, and my personal favourite part this week is that Adele outsold Emeli :D
August 16, 201311 yr Author Updated for week 32 (there's no such thing as week 31). Selena Gomez is coming for your non-Robin Thicke faves.
August 21, 201311 yr Author Updated for week #33, not much of interest I'm afraid :( Robin Thicke's climbed a fair bit but still comfortably outside the top 40 (for now).
August 21, 201311 yr Thanks for updating/doing this Umi! :cheer: Really enjoy reading through it. Cannot wait for the holiday season though so album sales can get pushed up a lot as they look quite awful for the moment!

There is interest for it, I read through it every week Thanks for the replies! Though Tim I was actually talking about it just being a boring week this time :kink: Agreed about album sales, I'm actually really interested to see how much stuff starts to sell per week coming into the holiday season.
