Norwegian pop goddess Tone Damli Aaberge is finally releasing here in the UK :cheer:

 

Her first UK single - Butterflies and her debut UK album - I Know are released on November 22nd after many delays.

 

 

 

I Know is Tone's third album in her native Norway and is utterly superb and the UK version is coming with her new single I Love You as well :wub: For the Eurovision loons out there, Butterflies was runner up to Alexander Rybak's ESC 2009 winning track Fairytales in Norway's National Final - Melodi Grand Prix.

 

 

To those who have just recoiled in horror at the word Eurovision, just listen to her stuff and don't be so narrow minded. Some of the best Scandi-pop was written by ESC artists and with ESC in mind.

 

 

Tone has just released a new Single and Album in Norway, Crazy Cool [Oct 10th] and the album Cocool [Oct 25th] featuring two tracks from the international version of I Know [i Love You, Love Me Like You Hate Me]

LOVE Butterflies :wub: Honestly I Love You isn't as good. But I still hope she does well here.

She won't do well at all and it's obviously another Kaci situation here - zero promo/airplay = zero awareness = zero success, no matter how good the music is :(

 

I'll definitely be buying this album on Sept 6th though :D Butterflies still sounds fantastic :wub: I Love You and I Know aren't even half as good but are still decent.

Wasn't there a cover of Little Lies on the original album? Shame that's not on this release if I'm thinking of the right singer. Longshot was a favourite of mine though iirc.

Glad this is getting released finally, as far as I'd heard it was meant to be out in July and has got put off...as if it was going to get any more promo in that time.

Yes there was! This seems to be a compilation of sorts, or it's new tracks. Not sure on the track listing of her other albums.

I like her and the album, but it seems she has some new material coming out... it'd be wiser to combine both albums once her new one is released rather than leaving the UK a year behind all the time.

Love Me Like You Hate Me, Pick It Up and I Love You would be the new material :kink:

 

The remainder of the UK version of I Know is from the original release.

 

We are getting a hybrid, similar to Hook Me Up except with new material rather than old.

The video has been added to Starz, but I have NEVER seen it played. I even requested it once! Probably all the chavs from Peckham wanting Devlin and Justin Beiber on all the time.

I've seen it on Starz and Chart Show a couple of times but that's hardly enough of an audience reach. Shame, but this type of music isn't really in vogue anyway, I'm not certain it would have done a lot even if it had had Radio 1 playlisting (and it's nothing like what they would support anyway) :(

I've seen it on Chart Show as well. Shame she's had no Radio support ^_^

Release Me was like a major fluke though.

 

Scandi acts never really get any support here which is a crying shame.

HMV have the release date for the album as September 11th :mellow: Which is a week today, and a very strange date.

I noticed. I cancelled my pre-order for it as they clearly haven't got a clue. Amazon still have it down for 4th October...

New date on the release schedule is October 11th :cry: and Butterflies isn't on iTunes yet.

Listening now on Spotify, and it's really good :o May put it on my Xmas list if I know something will come of the release

It isn't much different, but I quite the international version of Butterflies! Not as much as the original but it's good ^_^ They made it a lot rockier in the chorus.

Looks like Tone's duetted with Phil's favourite artist recently;

 

 

Quite nice, I like the violin in it.
