Ed Drewett seems really enthusiastic about this song on Twitter. Strange to see him writing a song for One Direction after writing for The Wanted on a few of their songs. Look forward to hearing it.

How shit will it be for The Wanted when this song is inevitably more successful than those songs? :heehee:

'Best Song Ever' really? :manson: And to think Buzzjack said 'Hottest Girl In the World' was a terrible song title. It looks like 1D are going up their own arses and believing their own hype. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the 'worst song ever'. I hope this misses #1, but there isn't much competition so I think they'll get there :(

Lyric from the clip: "we dance all night to the best song ever"

So I don't believe they're being up their own arses at all.

Dancing to Underneath by Alanis Morissette, how sweet

Oh at least they're not claiming their song to be the best song ever, I haven't heard the clip so didn't know about that. I still am 99% sure I won't like it though

Yeah, but they're definitely aware that naming the song as they have they're going to get some sort of reaction from people. It just screams marketing ploy (similar, but a little more exaggerated than Walks Like Rihanna was). Obviously the song's lyrics aren't going to be "this is the best song ever, because we're bigger than The Beatles", but they know full well what they're doing with this.

I'll hold my judgement for it now because they have had some real gems in their short career and i just hope this follows on from one of them.

Oh it's HARDLY as downright shameless as Walks Like Rihanna! Now that really did stink of desperation. One Direction are not gagging for a hit, they know they'll get one. It just seems like a typical "tween appeal" song title to me.

When I first saw the title of the single I thought it was just a working title, is the track actually called "Best Song Ever", I've got to hear it first to believe it

Is it not up for pre-order in the US yet?

Nah not yet, I saw on a website that it's not up for pre-order in the US and Canada for some reason.

Well, at the very least that's their best artwork to date. Lyrics don't sound too cringeworthy.

Bit longer than the clip in the trailer and you can hear it better. Really looking forward to hearing this in full! :D

There's nothing new heard there that's not in the trailer, but the production in HQ does sound good. I'm weirdly looking forward to this  Will this and "One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)" both feature on their third album?

I don't know about this but I'd say it's unlikely OWOA will feature, what with it just being for charity.

Sadly even on 60 secs you can tell that Ed's tried his best but even a turd can't be polished...really hope Avicii keeps this from number 1.

No-one is shocked by this post.

I think it went oh, oh, oh...

I think it went yeah, yeah...

For a chorus sounds very cringey.
