In future years, this section will be the songs that failed to autoqualify for next year, however as this is the last time we will be visiting 2003, it doesn't matter too much for this sorry lot. However, we do lose 10 of the 15 qualifiers here, including runaway playoff winner Leave Right Now, so it seems there's not really much of an impact left to make on 2003. Well, Stacie Orrico and Kelly Rowland bomb down out of the top 20 but maybe they just had a freak year last time.

16 34 Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body 181

15 16 Michael Andrews (feat. Gary Jules) - Mad World 183

13 22 Jamelia - Superstar 188

12 12 Mis-Teeq - Scandalous 190

11 14 Christina Aguilera - Beautiful 190

Β

For the rest of them, we lose 3 of last year's top ten, with Avril crashing down from the top 6 all the way to 25th (:(), as do 7 Nation Army and Fighter, but a few new entries, notably 50 Cent, which finishes 7 years of hurt in these games on a high at 26th for the year, while the highest qualifier is Move Your Feet, as its fans come out in force this year.

Β

10 17 Coldplay - Clocks 198

9 20 Dido - White Flag 199

8 3 Evanescence - My Immortal 208

7 4 Johnny Cash - Hurt 232

6 7 Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love? 240

5 10 Evanescence - Bring Me To Life 257

4 13 Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River 290

Β

Unlike last year, My Immortal didn't make it straight to the final, despite a bit of extra exposure (if you can call The Voice that) this year but thankfully both Evanescence tracks make it into the playoffs for their final year. Fairly pleasingly also; Clocks, White Flag and Cry Me A River (it seems like all of Justin's material is seeing a big increase in popularity this year) join the top 10.

Β

3 9 Sugababes - Hole In The Head 293

2 1 BeyoncΓ© (feat. Jay-Z) - Crazy In Love 311

1 2 t.A.T.u - All The Things She Said 379

Β

And so the final 3 is last years top 2, plus a bit of a surge for Hole In The Head which narrowly pips Cry Me A River to a 'Direckt to Finalen' spot. All The Things She Said has a huge lead though and it was never really in any doubt this time round that it would win.

Great result for Hole In The Head - by far the best Sugababes song  (IMO)

50 Cent getting that last hurrah. *.*

Β

YAY for Coldplay, Dido and Justin all making into into the playoff when they failed last year. Can't argue with any of that. I was kind of expecting both Evanescence songs to make up the worst possible top 3 with t.A.T.u. so that's not as bad as I expected also. Woo. Still a poor top 3 though, 'Crazy In Love' aside.

Β

Eek at 'Hurt' doing worse than last year. Hope it can still make it through the playoff.

Would rather have one of Evanesence's songs or Cry Me A River over Crazy In Love but I love that too so it's a fab top 3!
YUSSS CLOCKS  Really good results on the whole, great to see Junior Senior getting a last hurrah after failing virtually every time before.
That's quite a disappointing top 10 considering how good 2003 was, and how many good songs there are in the 11-20 section - but it's a decent top 3. The underperformance of 'Leave Right Now' in this game always surprises me. I always think of it as having been one of the really obvious massive hits of that year.
Innocent Eyes too low! But top 30 of the year for a #9 hit is a decent showing I guess...strange re-entry for Kylie, it's a respected song but I've never seen much BJ love for it until now.
