According to ATRL forums, 'Girlfriend' was announced as Icona Pop's next single on a radio station in the Netherlands. I'm not sure whether to believe it yet, but here is the song. If it does turn out to be a single, I can easily split the topic later:

The guy who posted the thread on ATRL is pretty realiable, I know who he is. Dutch radio stations never play a song if it's not a single so I guess it's pretty certain it is going to be a single, not sure if it'll be a single in Holland only or worldwide

I imagine it's based around the chorus for 'Bonnie And Clyde', it irritated me then and irritates me in this sadly. :(

 

Aside from that, it's not too bad but obviously not a patch on 'I Love It'.

And it has now been confirmed by Icona Pop on Twitter that it is their next single!

Not very, it's like a limper 'I Love It' with the chorus borrowed from that song.

 

I decided on the second listen that I don't really like it. :( I'm sure they must have something better up their sleeve to follow up with than this?!

Billboard has reported that Girlfriend is the follow-up single internationally for Europe & certain markets

This and "'03 Bonnie and Clyde" both sample "Me and My Girlfriend" by 2pac/Makaveli. "Girlfriend" is alright on first listen - not as good as "I Love It", but I can see it growing!

This is so disappointing after 'I Love It', it just sounds cheesy :(

I actually prefer the original artwork because it feels less lazy and I feel as if more effort was put into it.

Yeah you're right. But I think that was also a lead single from the Nights Like This EP which also contained 'Manners'. So I think 'I Love It' is considered to be the 1st single from the Icona Pop album - but I'm not sure :kink:
