THE RESULTS

As most of us are familiar with all the tracks from the album, instead of posting the standard videos of the songs I shall add remixes, live versions, mash-ups or demos. :)

All artwork for non-singles is fan made.

Feel free to speculate and predict how the tracks will rank!

Born To Die to win alllllll bye
Well... I didn't vote, and I'm the only LDR fan who actually likes "Yayo", so I'm imagining that'll come last :(

Hopefully not, I gave it a 10 so that should help it out a bit

If there's any justice the top 3 will be Blue Jeans, Ride & Video Games - although Born To Die, National Anthem, Off To The Races, Cola etc. would be OK.

National Anthem or Off To The Races please! I feel bad that I forgot to vote in this :(
Summertimes Sadness to slay your faves yeee

THIS INDEED THIS

I'd also love to see Off to the Races and Bel Air do well.

YAYO

AVERAGE RATING: 5.11

"Hello Heaven, you are a tunnel lined with yellow lights on a dark night"

http://i41.tinypic.com/dme1bq.jpg

Somewhat surprisingly finishing last is 'Yayo'. A track featuring towards the end of 'Paradise', this track seems to have divided feedback with some users really liking it, and others really disliking it. It was previously included on her album 'Lana Del Rey A.K.A. Lizzy Grant' which is no longer available for purchase. The track is very reductionist which allows Lana's voice to be the centre of attention here. Some might call it bland and forgettable whilst others may say it's unique and interesting. As such 'marmite' track, it did receive a barrage of low results including 0s and a -1, although, it did receive higher scores too, they just weren't enough to help this track from finishing last.

BLUE VELVET

AVERAGE RATING: 5.48

"But in my heart there'll always be precious and warm a memory through the years. I can still see blue velvet through my tears"

Next up, just missing out finishing at the bottom is 'Blue Velvet'. A song that Lana recorded for an H&M advert. The song was released as an LP which can also be gained by owning the Born To Die: Paradise deluxe box set. This song appears to have had a very negative response amongst raters, with the top rates not even reaching two figures. Unlike every other song on the double album, Lana is not listed on the writing credits. Therefore, although being recorded in true Lana style, it feels a bit limp as her lack of input, it doesn't really have her added shine to it, which may be why it finished second from last. The bottom two tracks have been from the Paradise edition of the album.

Blue Velvet is a decent enough cover and worked well on the ad, I just don't think it deserves to be included on the album. I'd have rather had a finished version of Never Let Me Go...that song would've gone nicely with Ride.
Um wow shame on all of you, Yayo is my go to drinking by myself song. Try it

LOLITA

AVERAGE RATING: 5.80

"Just you and me feeling the heat even when the sun goes down"

http://i39.tinypic.com/2zqa6a9.jpg

Up next is 'Lolita', the first track from the three deluxe edition tracks of 'Born To Die' to appear in the countdown. One of the more fast paced Lana songs in which a persona is depicted suggesting a girl who is sexually precocious, however it appears to have been reinforced by male peers with feelings such as teasing. Also, the lyrics suggest that the persona wishes to start a relationship and doesn't want her love interest to listen to what other people have said. Arguably, it doesn't feel as emotive as many of the other tracks included in this rate which is perhaps why it didn't reach its audiences. The lyrics have been criticised as being cheap and tacky, however others have commended it for lightening up the album a little. Either way, Lolita Del Rey, your nonsense has clearly not been tolerated in this rate as it failed to get a double figure top rate!

BEL AIR

AVERAGE RATING: 6.18

"Roses, Bel Air, take me there, I've been waiting to meet you"

http://i39.tinypic.com/xqdq89.jpg

At number 22 is another track from the 'Paradise' side of the album, 'Bel Air'. It's the last track on the standard edition of the re-release. The chorus may be the best part to the song, and the verses have been described as boring and forgettable. It's quite a moody track with contrasting vocals in the chorus, but ultimately, perhaps it falls short of how it was meant to. It is the second track so far to score an '11' along with 'Yayo', but again, due to low rates this hasn't helped it finish higher. A promotional video was released (which has now been deleted) of the camera moving around Lana in smoke with various coloured tints, which matches the dreamy nature of the song that perhaps requires more substance.

This is going very well so far. Bel Air sounded insanely good throughout last winter, but it's withered a whole lot since (probably just works better for me when it's all chilly out).
Born To Die to win alllllll bye

It's an 11/10 in a career full of 6/10s.

Ouch for Blue Velvet. I really thought it'd have faired better.

Without You for the win!!! If only...

Oops @ not voting but "Young and Beautiful" to win please!

+1 (aside from the 'Young & Beautiful' bit!). The only true winners here are 'Ride' and 'Video Games', but I do hope 'Carmen' can avoid finishing far too low :(
