#40 in the mids. She's likely to only spend 2 weeks in the top 40. :/

Oh dear :( This is a disaster, evidently she's just a singles artist these days I guess.

Plus she doesn't do anything to stimulate the public to actually buy her music (except singles). She doesn't promote her music, she only promotes her persona (and she does it a lot less than before)... With that she obviously sells perfumes, eyelashes, hair products but not her music.

 

She actually worked harder in the promotion of her music during 3 Words (more performances, festivals, music radio shows like Live Lounge etc) and that was when she probably needed it less.

I still think she can pull back some album sales with an Only Human release. Ideally it would have been her second single, it would have still gone to number 1, but would have sold the album more, and I Don't Care could have been a 3rd single.

She was sick last weeek so I guess she has an excuse for not doing much promo wise, but now she needs to get back on track!

These weeks are so important and she needs to line up some performances and interviews! We need the 3rd single and we need it NOW.

MLR really was that bad imo. :( The only decent track for me was 'Yeah Yeah', and 'Amnesia' was one of the worst pieces of music to ever leave a recording studio.

Amnesia is one of the better tracks on there! :o Along with Yeah Yeah, Hummingbird and Waiting. Those 4 tracks plus the two singles make up the best half of the album for me.

 

The dodgier ones on that album imo are Everyone, Raindrops and Let's Get Down (generic as hell and she doesn't sound remotely interested in getting down... I know people may disagree). Live Tonight, Better To Lie and Happy Tears are ok I suppose, but weak against most of the tracks from her other albums.

Hopefully Only Human so she can stand there and sing and silence some of her haters.

Hmm, she did that on CIN and didn't silence haters! I'm not sure she could do any better if she tried again. :(

Amnesia is amazing :( Yeah Yeah, Waiting and Hummingbird are incredible too from MLR, and I love the singles.

 

Live Tonight is by FAR her worst song ever though. Even so, I love MLR - her best album for me actually.

#40. Crap. Like others have said, she really needs to promote this album if she actually wants it to sell anymore. She needs to push some more of the songs and show it's got more depth. I hope she doesn't just stand by and watch the era die like she did with A million lights. Granted I know she had the reunion with GA as an excuse then but still. Listened to the album again today - it really should be selling more. I think I won't break is brilliant.

What promo has Cheryl actually done this era, with an actual performance.

Yeah, three televised performances in nearly 7 months. Difficult to convince someone to spend money in her music when she doesn't work on it.

 

Before 2010 all her apparences were basically linked to her music (except a JR interview).

She isn't doing any of the Top Of The Pops shows this year :(

And she isn't announced for the Capital Jingle Bell Ball either. :(

I would have thought too, Girls Aloud used to do all of them and Cheryl would definitely be invited.

She needs to get out there and work for it. I guess sitting on her arse judging singers pays so much better.

For her to get the album selling she really does need to get out there, one of her big downfalls at the moment is people do not see her solo career as successful without the support of X Factor as her last album really under-performed when she was not on the show. That point could be argued with how her current album is performing as its doing no better than her last release and she is back on the show.

 

X Factor is boosting her single sales but not album sales. Cheryl has grabbed 2 number 1's which is great but the negative from it is they are 2 of the lower selling number 1's of the year. Cheryl needs to work the circuit, grab promotion etc and also start singing live at live events so people will start to take her seriously and see her as someone who gets all her promotion through X Factor mimed performances.
