Only Human enjoys a two-place rise to #76 in this week's UK Albums Chart following the gift card effect *_* I've really not played this album as much as her previous three (the third of which I'd actually say is my favourite) but it's a shame it's underperformed so much in comparison to them.

I never thought I would say it but she didn't deserve any better, she stopped promoting it the day it got released, which is a shame.

I love the album but the lack of efforts she put in the promotion is appalling and disrespectful to her fans. I'm not happy.

I quite agree. I dunno if her team are delusional and think shes bigger than she is but that is basically three flop albums now. Not great.

Three flop albums?

I would assume she also thought her presence on X-Factor would constituent as promotion. Apparently not :kink:
Three flop albums?

I was gonna say  Of course 3 Words isn't as that sold a million, but nor is Messy Little Raindrops as that went platinum!

I'd argue A Million Lights might scrape out of "flop" as well, gold isn't AMAZING but given she isn't an albums artist really and there were only two singles, neither of which were ballads to sell the album, it did ok. Plus she wasn't on XF then. This time around she was but she just didn't promote aside from that which I agree is ridiculous.

If she wants the album to sell then she needs to hurry the f*** up and release Only Human as a single.
I agree. She has a very small time frame for her window of opportunity to release a single to help the album. If she leaves it any longer, it's gonna be past the point of no return and we can all kiss this era a big fat goodbye. Was just wondering why I always seem to like the lazy ass artists who don't promote. I guess I should be thankful Cheryl performed 3 times. That's 3 more than britney graced us in her last era.
Messy Little Raindrops sold well over 400k lol so I'd say that was a definite hit album. A Million Lights did...OK, all things considered. Liam was right that Call My Name and Under the Sun weren't exactly big album sellers and it was released outside Q4. Not saying it did brilliantly but it did OK. Only Human hasn't done great of course but there IS still life in the campaign if she can be bothered...
'Messy Little Raindrops' was approaching 500,000 last I knew, I don't think that can be considered as a flop album.

In a way it's no harm to have a little break after 'I Don't Care'. And then hopefully we'll hear of the 3rd single in the next 2 weeks maybe.

I would prefer this strategy than Jessie J's for example, where it's hard to know if Masterpiece, Burnin' Up or Sweet Talker are official singles at all and were rushed released.

I'm crossing fingers that Cheryl has not finished with this era. We need to hear something soon.

I hope you are right. It just seems to be a pattern of Cheryl's to pull plug on an era prematurely. However, I know the cash cow that was the girls aloud 10 was partly to blame for this with the least era. Has 'I don't care' gone platinum? - I read it somewhere on here.
Yeah it's absence in the top 100 year end chart spoke volumes. I think I just got a pang of excitement when I read it had gone silver. Then I remembered that's still shit lol. I think it's such a great song - just don't get why everyone else can't see that too!
There did seem to be less hype for I Don't Care than Crazy Stupid Love despite the X Factor performance, which seemed very odd :(
I think she needed to promote it harder. One X Factor performance just wasn't enough to sustain it. I wish she'd spend more time being a poppstar - the bare minimum has gone into this album era. :(
