Hull City A.F.C. are being renamed to Hull City Tigers domestically, and Hull Tigers internationally (probably with the view of being called Hull Tigers domestically in the future as well.

I'm embarrassed. :puke2:

Ugh. I can't help feeling that other clubs will follow suit :(

Apparently the owners of Cardiff wanted to name them Cardiff City Dragons, so one of the fans quickly bought the name as a limited company so they couldn't use it.

But yeah it would be a sad day when others start.

I'm still going to associate 'Tigers' with the nickname, not part of the actual name. And I'm going to get my shirt soon because apparently from next season the new badge will be put on as well.

Carlisle United Cumbrians doesn't sound good to me.

Hoping for a better result this week in the League. 5-1 defeat on the opening day wasn't impressive to put it politely.

apologies for writing 3 threads in a row but anyway. even though we lost 5-4 to Coventry, what a game for a neutral. 3-0 down at half-time before we drag it back to 3-3 (baldock x2 and jet) then 4-4 (Elliott) before losing it. what a perfect advert for the football league. I would much rather support my local team than be a glory hunter. coyr :yahoo:

I'm sure that's what a lot of people in Coventry thought before "local team" was redefined as "team playing 35 miles away in Northampton".

EDIT

Wrong thread.

Disappointing league form, can the team that played last Wednesday please come back? Already got the worst goal difference in the division, clearly the defence has not gelled yet.
more interested in Bristol city v wolves than the falseness of the premier league and it's armchair fans coyr :D
Wenger just needs to leave.

And be replaced by who?

The ingratitude of gooners is unreal after all Wenger has done for that club over the years

Oh please do go away.

Great start for West Ham, apparently we missed a host of chances but Cardiff aren't devoid of firepower so if we're creating things and keeping clean sheets we'll be sailing. None of the new signings played either, and he seems prepared to give Diarra more of a chance this season.

And the goal difference keeps getting worse with Coventry getting rid of that point deficit quickly. Bottom of the table for Carlisle in a few weeks if this keeps up. -_-

It's the evolution of the plastic fans. I agree under Wenger I doubt they will ever challenge for the title again, but it's the fans fault in the first place that Wenger abandoned his working, but not instant, philosophy. They've missed out of three big name targets. So either Arsenal don't have the money, or their negotiation team are absolutely awful.

Bad result for them today, but it's a long season. They need to strengthen otherwise certainly Spurs, and possibly Liverpool will be creeping up on them more than they'd like.

I remember Utd beating them like 8-2 and they still made CL

Wenger, even though he is annoying as f*** is a genius, one of the best managers of my lifetime, the sheer insanity of some gooners beggars belief, to find the likes of Vieira in Milan reserves, Fabregas in Barca youth team, Henry a mediocre winger in Juventus reserve team and turn them into world beaters and discover god knows how many other great talents yet still get abuse is unreal

The guy should have a statue outside the Emirates and his name chanted with affection at every game given what he has achieved

Shows that Arsenal is infested with glory hunters

Arsenal's problem is that in the post-2003 era they've not really been able to keep up. I suspect Wenger probably holds more power than your average manager, but their board really have some questions to answer for. The problem is now they're likely to panic buy, which may or may not be a good thing. The loss against Villa showed the weakness in Arsenal's squad. They've a few injuries as it is, and now more injuries and suspensions after today. I think they'll spend, but they'll have missed out on their three very public top targets so obviously something is going wrong.

He may have done a lot for the club but his way just isn't working anymore. He doesn't seem to understand the modern footballing world. He rolls out excuses after excuses and it is well known that he holds a lot of power over the board. He refuses to buy players and the fans have simply had enough (as you could tell from the booing at the game today). We have gone 8 years without a trophy and it simply isn't good enough. The board are too blame as well. Gazidis should never have come out and said we had a huge transfer kitty if we weren't going to use it.

You said that Wenger still managed to get us Top 4 but that is not good enough. For a club of our stature, we should be challenging for the title and trophies. The team is p*** poor and it's gotten to a stage where they are losing the support of fans. Sczezney is a liability in goal and for a club of nature, to have three fit defenders (Koscielny is banned for the next PL game and Jenkinson isn't good enough) is absolutely ridiculous. We have a very important Champions League qualifer coming up on Wednesday and we can't even field a full defence. The midfield is simply weak (Arteta's injury hasn't helped as he's the core of our midfield) and Giroud is a ok striker but he bottles it. We desperately need signings or we're going to finish 6th or 7th. To lose 3-1 at home to Aston Villa (a side struggling for relegation last season is not on). I mean we ended up having to put Ramsey and Podolski in defence (due to injury but we should have cover available) You can go on about his history being fantastic, but we've moved on since then. Yes, Wenger did find those players who were all sold on for profit.

Rooney, I am certainly not a plastic fan. I, like every other want to see my team suceed and under Wenger it isn't going to happen. Our fans are charged the highest priced tickets in the country and have to see pathetic displays like today's shambles. We were promised new signings, and all we have seen through the door is Yaya Sanogo. To blame the fans is ridiculous. We can no longer support the board and Wenger because of the way they are handling the club. To us, a fourth place finish is not enough and we want to be challenging. Eight years without a trophy is not good enough.

Wenger has simply lost his touch and he and the management of the club are simply to blame.
