And Chelsea won't be stronger with Costa?

Yes and no. The problem Chelsea (and Liverpool) are going to face next season is teams just putting 11 men behind the ball. Mourinho's not the best at taking the emphasis to attack. While Costa will undoubtedly help, I still think they need some flair players. Ones that can pick a pass, use creativity. Of course with Costa they can just HOOF mind. They've apparently sold Luiz to Barcelona already. All depends on what Mourinho does with Hazard.

Man City fined £49m and only allowed a squad of 21 players in Europe next season.

Wow. If only the sanctions could be this heavy for racism!

I guess that means Richards and Lescott will have to be kept for one more year then, given (I believe) the 21 will still include the 8 home grown players from the country, including four from their own club, don't think they have many. Only have Richards and Boyata for club, plus Milner, Hart, Lescott, and Rodwell. Essentially makes it a 19 man squad to be backed up by youth.

Yet with the £49m to spend they'll be keen to boost that with selling a couple. Obviously Lescott wouldn't have fetched much anyway but Richards would have added a few million.

I can't see them raising much from player sales. Their players are on inflated wages as it is, they'll surely have to be giving the likes of Lescott payouts (which will show in their accounts) as surely he's bound for someone like Hull/Palace/Newcastle, and I can't see them being able to afford 100k a week. It's right that in the 21-man squad they have to have 4 club trained, and 4 home grown players. Problem they're going to have is clubs know they only have a certain amount to spend, so they can well and truly play hardball.

Neil Lennon has parted company with Celtic after 4 years as he has concerns about his playing budget. Where now for Lennon?

A shame for Southampton likely to be compounded when they lose their best players. It was interesting to see a lot of Saints supporters on Facebook rejecting the idea of David Moyes as their new manager. By contrast, a lot of Brighton supporters said they would welcome Moyes to succeed Oscar Garcia.
Pochettio appointed Spurs boss.. wonder how long he'll last!

Pochettino sacked, didnt last long did he ;)

jokes, its a good question and can see him being there for a year like moyes. Cant see him bringing champions league football to spurs as can see arsenal building on the fa cup win :D

McDermott has parted company with Leeds United by mutual consent.

Also confirmed that Neil Adams has the Norwich City role, thought it would have been Mackay.

I have a feeling Bristol City will be playing Bristol Rovers in League 2 next season. :(

I see Cotterill is finally showing all of his qualities.

He's still done better than SOD.

I always said he would... to start with. But he'll only take you to League 2. He's an atrocious manager.

Isn’t it funny looking back at old posts?! :D
