The decline of Hart is extraordinary

This time last year i considered him the best keeper in the world

Now he has turned into a hapless David James type figure

That's because you believe everything you read.

There's been an obvious increase in errors but it's easy to forget that he hasn't been City's and England's Number 1 for THAT long and he was never perfect. Dropping him will do more harm than good.

More believe everything i see

He is the sole reason why we didn't absolutely destroy City at WHL last season and even at Eastlands he made 4 incredible world class saves v us

He played out of his skin during the season Man City won the title. In some ways he reminds me of Pepe Reina. Brilliant goalkeeper, but always prone to a mad error. Reina was never the same after his old goalkeeper coach left. Would be interesting to know the situation at Man City. I think a great goalkeeping coach is a severely underrated position.

What I will say is it may do Hart some good to be dropped. It effects people in different ways. He has basically no competition for Man City and England. That can't be good.

I don't feel it's productive to drop who is clearly your best goalkeeper as they live off confidence. For other players it's a kick up the backside but it's not like he'd work any harder if he were dropped when his role is all about individual moments.

His dip in form has been hugely exaggerated as well. If it weren't for him we'd have been mauled at the Maracana, and it was Nastasic's mistake at the weekend.

I hope Hart plays no more than 45 minutes in each of the upcoming friendlies. Even if he was in top form (and, let's face it, he isn't), Hodgson needs to sort out which other 'keepers will go to Brazil and who is next in line if Hart is injured or is not the first choice by then.

I think Craig overstated Hart's loss of form but there is no doubt that he is going through a bad patch.

I don't think it was Nastasic's mistake. He did what he should have in that siutation - clear the ball away. Hart was off his line for no reason. He does it quite a lot. There's being a commanding box, then there's just being plain silly. Players react to being dropped in different ways. I think a game or two on the bench might do him the world of good.

He's been going through a bad patch for over a year now. He's a top goalkeeper, but like I say it's similar to the Pepe Reina situation at Liverpool, people are too nostalgic about him. He's been at cost for a lot of their goals conceded through mistakes of his own doing through poor judgement and positioning.

He has definitely lost his aura of invincibility

Still a very good keeper but he has gone from one of best in world if not best in world in 2011 to imho 3rd best keeper in the league after Lloris and Mignolet

Mignolet is easily the best keeper in the league for my money - he wasn't so well known when at Sunderland but his saves kept them up last year. Really wish he'd stuck around, Westwood is good but he doesn't pull saves out of nowhere like Simon did.

Mignolet's very good. Needs to work a lot on his skills with the ball, but he's probably one of if not the best shot stopper in the league. Lloris is a better all round keeper than him. The Hart decision is fully justified. He'll be back in the team in the future but it takes all the pressure away from him for a few weeks. Next time if he makes a mistake the media won't be so over him.

Really wondering where Spurs goals are gonna come for you Craig. Got a feeling you'll be like Liverpool with the season under Kenny were we just couldn't score for toffee all year.

Hope Hart rediscovers his confidence. Having a watching brief might help both himself and Pantilimon.

Carlisle had another defeat this weekend, postponed home game against Wolves at Brunton Park on Tuesday. Hope it isn't a rout knowing our home defensive frailties.

We are not conceding goals which is the most important thing, aside from the freak West Ham game we have only conceded 2 goals all season, we have only scored 9 goals but are equal 2nd in the premiership

So long as we are not shipping goals we will be right in the mix

"Equal second" meaning third. And if it's goal difference deciding places at the end of the season then you're buggered.

We're not conceding many either, should I book my tickets for the Westfalenstadion yet?

Attack is the best form of defence. Just think Spurs' inability to score goals is really going to cost you. It's tight at the top, really wouldn't surprise me if things came down to goal difference again.

Goals are not everything, we are ahead of City in the table who have scored 3 times as many as us, the important thing is not to concede

Despite not scoring many goals we have had our best ever start in the premiership, lots of new players need time to gel too

Our striker is getting used to a new league, a much faster league than he has spent his entire career in, takes time to adjust

Drogba, Bergkamp etc took half a season before they showed any real form, Henry too, and those 3 became 3 of the best players the premiership has ever seen

We also have plenty of money to spend should we need to, Levy has told AVB he has £50m to spend in Jan if he wants

6 goals all season from open play tells a different story!

I think Soldado is a dud personally. Don't think he'll be able to adjust to the pace of the league. Same goes for Lamela. I think Eriksen is showing why lots of clubs scouted him heavily, but none were really that bothered about his signature. If you click you could become very good, but right now I would say there are serious question marks. Don't think AVB is the right man. Absolute moron letting Lloris stay on the pitch yesterday. Really stupid, and awful management.

Drogba was considered a dud by Chelsea fans half way through his first season, I remember Bergkamp getting stick off the media and gooners but look what they became, look at Eto'o too, looks like a championship player atm, Dzeko took a full season to settle

Few foreign strikers make an immediate impact, only ones i can think of in recent years have been Cisse of Newcastle (who has been a joke ever since that half season), Demba Ba, Lukaku, Benteke, Suarez, Aguero

Lamela has not had enough games to tell whether he will make it, Eriksen similarly as Siggy has had a great season so far

AVB for me is the best manager there has been at the club since i started supporting Spurs in 1980 (reasons below)

All the time i have been supporting Spurs we have had 2 massive weaknesses - defence and our winning mentality/mental strength

AVB has worked miracles with our defence, has turned our 3 decades achilles heel into probably the best defence in the premiership, we are like fort knox these days and that is due to AVB

He has also toughened our midfield, we have some absolute beasts in midfield now - Capoue, Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele, our heads dont drop when we go a goal down like happened under Harry, Jol and a whole succession of managers before them, we are scoring goals at the end of games and in injury time which is near enough unheard of in my time as a Spurs fan

Goals are the final piece of the jigsaw, they will come, either through Soldado or someone else we buy but it is easier to win games when the score is 0-0 than in the past when we would be 2-0 down

Edited by Sandro Ranieri

To be fair Spurs aren't going to concede many as so few teams can score a goal. Less than half the teams in it are averaging more than a goal a game after 10 matches, that's utterly diabolical. Being in the league is now worth so much money that not conceding or losing has become of far greater importance than actually trying to win matches, most teams play like they'd be happy to draw half of their games 0-0.

But surely it's only not a problem if the goals are coming from elsewhere and there are other strikers to take on the job of being a regular scorer?

This is nothing to do with what you posted, more a general point, but how often do you hear a white players being referred to as a beast?
