Really impressed with best Global selling album of 2013.

 

Midnight Memories had a great climb last week and an even greater fall this week, very yo-yo. It is strange to see their first 2 albums leave the chart so close by each other, particularly their debut after it remaining top 75 for 3 consecutive years without dropping out. Take Me Home in-particular i hope returns as i would like it it to become their second million seller which i really believe will. Midnight Memories i am not so sure it will happen as i cant see another hit coming off the album after the performance of the midnight memories single.

If You and I is handled correctly, it'll do better than MM. Plus it's a better song lo.

 

Although it has actually outpeaked MM already lol, thank god for that iTunes error.

If they do release 'You & I' properly over here, will a BGT performance clash with their tour dates?

Tbh if a BGT performance is a possibility, the tour dates appear to be perfect. BGT ended on June 8th last year and they're in London for the tour on 6th, 7th and 8th June this year. Since the live shows are filmed at Wembley, they wouldn't need to go out of their way to record a performance! (all assuming BGT sticks to the same schedule, otherwise there's a gap in the dates between the South American shows and the UK dates :unsure:)

The biggest grower for me has been 'Little Black Dress', what a fantastic addition to their back catalogue.

Agreed, it really does get better and better with repeated listens :wub: Wouldn't mind them experimenting more with that sound for the next album!

With the likelihood of no more hits coming of this album, its starting to appear this will easily end up their lowest UK selling album. The album is dropping away now and its a fair bit away from 800,000 sales. Therefore, i suspect it may struggle to make triple platinum which both their first and second album managed.

Don't really listen to One Direction but i hope they release "Strong" probably the first track by theirs I am in love with! :yahoo:

They're releasing 'You & I' as the 4th single and then they'll be touring the UK in May so I think it's safe to assume the album will be triple platinum by the end of the year.

If only every single person that went to see them bought another copy of the album. That'd be fabulous :kink:

They've not confirmed it but it's been sent to US radio, and the pictures from the video shoot definitely give off a ballad feel to the song.

I've been listening to this album more for a few days now and I think it might have overtaken 'Take Me Home' as my favourite of theirs. It's not as ballad heavy as I seem to remember it being.

 

'Diana' could've been their 'Call The Shots' moment. :(

I had a listen to the album yesterday and it was better than I remember also, but still not quite as good as the first two IMO. Loads of highlights though - the singles, DFWYB, Happily, and I've got a soft spot for Something Great also, really underappreciated.
