:cheer: That's another good thing to look forward to then. So much music from my favs coming out this year. :D

I do hope she goes for a softer look than that photo suggests. I think "Urban" Alex woudln't come across well to some.

Here's some brilliant info about the Ep & its released date as well as the lead single :)

"New Rules” is the upcoming extended play by British recording artist and The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke. The EP is scheduled for release on digital retailers on 1st September via Sony Music. The official press release of the EP is scheduled for 27 August. Burke will present her new songs for the first time on 31 August at the G-A-Y club in London and will have as special guests, the new girl band Neon Jungle with debut single “Trouble“.

The EP is described by a mixture of Whitney Houston, Coldplay and urban sound. We assume that Burke will demonstrate her potential vocal through songs with a sound between Brit pop and alternative. Among the producers of EP are Vinylz and Rico Love. The first official single is a collaboration with American R&B/Soul singer Trey Songz. The single will premiere next week.

OMG Trey Songz! :o Ever since I knew she signed to KWL, I've been demanding a Trey or Big Sean collaboration.

And it's to be released via Sony? So she has got a record deal then.

Although she's had a successful music career since winning The X Factor, her future seemed uncertain when she parted ways with her record company back in June.

But now Alexandra Burke is set to release an EP of brand new material after signing a management deal with US super league company KWL.

Featuring six exclusive tracks, New Rules will be available to download at the beginning of September and features collaborations with the likes of Wretch 32.

New material: Alexandra Burke will release an EP featuring six new tracks ahead of her third studio album next year

The EP, which will be exclusively available to download on MailOnline 48 hours prior to its general release on August 30, promises to showcase Alexandra's 'sleeker, more sophisticated' sound.

The 24-year-old, who spent much of 2012 trying to launch her career across the pond in the US, is releasing the brand new music as a 'thank you' to the fans who have stuck by her since her X Factor win five years ago.

In a bid to build momentum ahead of the release of her third studio album, which is billed for next year, the EP will showcase the star's new sound.

Probs not. Hopefully one will be pushed as a promo single though.

Four days to go!

I'm hoping the # is there only for trending purposes and isn't actually included in the title. That's a bandwagon NOBODY should jump on.

The schedule has changed to it being released at 8am tomorrow on Daily Mail website.

The Mirror ran an article on one of the songs on New Rules.

The song, Day Dreams, features on EP #NewRules – a taster for her forthcoming album.

Alex told me last night: “Working on this new material has been really emotional.

“I’ve opened up lyrically more than ever and talked about things I never thought I would. But I always write from the heart.”

She ain’t kiddin’.

Writing about the pain of reading of Jermain’s infidelities in the papers, her lyrics include: “Millions of people and me, one.

“And I’m feeling I’m the last to know. Our private network – we built became a best seller show. What were you thinking at the time when you decided to sleep with her? It didn’t stop there, this I know, ’cos the papers f****** told me so.”

Writing about the immediate aftermath of their very public split - the singer was pictured nursing a drink at Thorpe Park - Alex admits to hitting the bottle. She adds: “I had moments and I cried and I’m not ashamed to say so, drank every day. Lost my best friend but I replaced you with merlot.”

Arguably saving the best ’til last, Alexandra also hits the footballer – this week named in the England squad for the crucial World Cup qualifiers – with an injury time blow: a reference to his recent,

bench–warming form.

She writes: “Oh deja vu, see you’re a fan of f****** substitutes...” Ouch.

Is this ep free? Or am i dreaming i read that? I really hope the new material can strike with an audience who will buy into her again as i do feel her music career rests on her next album after the disaster that was her second album.
