God this has gone so off topic. Can we please talk about Alex and elephant instead of how artist are ripping off other artist?

Anything in particular about Elephant you are wanting to discuss?

 

I don't tend to have huge problems with threads going off-topic, the argument has run its course though. I don't, however, have a problem with how the thread's going right now, as long as the big paragraphs of loon wars don't start up again.

I remain disappointed with the lack of an elephant noise at the start of the song.

And btw the producer makes the music don't they so are ripping off the song and the artists just sing the song. And also anyone know when the video Is out

No-one said Alexandra was personally ripping off anyone, at least from what I can remember. If they did, they are silly.

 

I don't think even God knows when the video is out. We took 10 months to get to the song premiering.

Me too. :( I don't get how are they going to release it back in March and hope for healthy overall sales, I can see a lot of people getting bored of 'Elephant' quite quickly!

 

But maybe an instant overplay killed it for me. Including the Morillo remix it has about 70-80 plays already which is absolutely huge for me.

and Alexis shouldn't be brought into this at all as she hasn't even done anything since We Found Love was released.

 

All I said was that 'Collide' was more inspired by Alexis Jordan than any of Rihanna's songs... :mellow:

It is going to be very interesting to see how well 'Elephant' does without an X Factor performance. With the release only being in March, it'll be extremely front-loaded and my bet is it'll be a #1 but with a chart run and sales similar to the likes of 'Promise This' or 'We R Who We R'. We'll see what happens though.

'We R Who We R' had a decent chart-run after all. I wish it hadn't though. :lol:

 

Held back releases still work in favour of artists sometimes, especially they work for all the Data artists: DJ Fresh, Example spring to mind firstly, they had two of the biggest hits of 2011. BUT - we don't know how 'Louder' and 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me' would work without OA/OS but given their popularity they'd still get to #1 or at least top-3.

 

'On the Floor' was held back, but that was J-Lo who was a flopstar for many mass media stations at the time, and lots of stations started to play it AFTER it got to #1.

All Night Long and Start Without You were hits without X-factor Alex does not depend on the show to get to No 1.

It might be filmed in a cheap location but it could still be great. Plus the choreography is looking immense.

I still don't like it. Too heavy on the auto tune. Rachel Adedeji`s new single is no better or worse.
