YES. So excited for this. I'm looking forward to 'The Counsellor' more, but still! 2 films with both Fassbender and Pitt in one year... epic

Why isn't there more talk/interest in this? :( The reviews for this seem to be positive (97 on Metacritic and 96% on Rotten Tomatoes!). Looks like it could be in for some wins at a few of the award ceremonies in February.

Let's ignore how I said 'The Counsellor' looks so much better... Still can't wait to see that. Obvz.

Saw the trailer in the cinemas last week and it definitely looks like a shoe-in for some of the big awards from that alone. Will be giving it a watch for sure.
Saw this at the London Film Fest and it is brutal. Really hard-going but so superbly done. Chiwetel Ejiofor (finally learnt how to spell his name without cheating!) is absolutely stunning, as are the rest of the cast (Sarah Paulson is becoming a real fave of mine between this and American Horror Story (plus Down with Love STILL)).

So heartwrenching and beautiful at the same time. The whipping scene towards the end! :'(
I'm so excited for this too. Going to see it during it's first week I hope! I have to. My anticpation is sky high for this. I'm so confident it won't disappoint me though.

As expected it was outstanding. Everyone was on top of their game! Such a stunningly beautiful yet powerful, emotional and brutal film! The way certain scenes just felt like they lasted for ages to get the real feel of how long it must have felt like

(the bit where he was almost hanging, in particular!)

. Obviously I imagine it didn't feel that short in reality, but the way it got conveyed onto a big screen, felt like such a long time!

The only flaw I had though was how it didn't really show the time difference very well (I didn't know whether all the events happened in the same week or days or whatever, for example). But yeah, Chiwetel and Michael to grab everything they're up for with this and '12 Years A Slave' to absolutely wipe the floor with everything else at this years awards please.

So heartwrenching and beautiful at the same time. The whipping scene towards the end! :'(

That one really got me. :( The entire movie made a big impact but I especially "loved" the ending,

Patsey's distress as Solomon was rescued was heartbreaking but then countering that with the family reunion

.

Couldn't do the whipping scene </3

Having rewatched 'Gravity' now too, this takes it for me comfortably. Incredible in so many ways and really apt that it should storm the awards in this year.
