The past few weeks where I live here in the US, one might think it were the UK with all the rain we've been having in my corner of the states....over a 10 day stretch 2 weeks back, some spots around me had 94 cm of rain.....for the year in my lil corner of Florida we're 53.34 cm above annual rainfall totals and it's only mid-August....people's homes have been flooded for the past 2 weeks now due to all the rains we've had...I think I may need to build an ark...
We've not actually had that much rain here in London this summer - maybe it's role reversal!

The El Nino weather pattern is what has me about to swim down the streets here in my corner of Florida, and, from what I'm hearing from the weather prognosticators round here, looks like it may very well be an extremely wet winter here, like it was back during the 1997/1998 winter, where it seemingly rained every 3rd day, and at near a 6 cm clip each time it rained...

Its peed down in Wigan all day today! It started to go sunny and warm around 3.30 this afternoon but I figured if I hung my washing out it would piss down again! Went to the launderette to use their dryers instead ... and it stayed sunny after all. There was a bloody big wasp in the launderette as well so I didn't hang around much! Its been ages since I went to a launderette - couldn't believe that for a whole quid you only get 10 minutes lousy drying time!

I don't half whinge don't I?

He got the results he needed to get into the University of his choice but he's still dithering about whether he wants to go or not. I think he should as there's not much out there - also I want him to expand his circle of friends - even if he only benefits from the social aspect I think it would be a good thing (its the only thing of use I got out of my uni days). Having said that - I don't know whether its worth coming out in three years time with £50K of debt hanging around his neck - and STILL there be not much out there in the way of decent employment.

Anyway - he's 18 next week - so it ain't my problem any more! I'm applying for jobs further from home now (I want to move as far away from Wigan as I can). If the world were to be given an enema - they'd stick the end of it in Wigan!

I was brave and snuck into the Retro Lounge last night

It was the lure of the 1970s that did it.......
