I can't quite remember where but there is a bit in that song that reminds me of Progress.

My ELO CD arrived today. Hopefully get to listen to it over the next couple of days. :)

Yes!

The one they did the Radio 2 gig for on the red button. It was brilliant.

I've loved ELO since the 1970s. :)

But... I haven't taken the CD out the packet yet - time is a bit tight at the minute. Will listen to it soon. I think my husband has nicked it for his van -_-

A few months away yet but the time will fly by so looking forward to same :)

Your hubby has good taste in music Laura

U2 are in Dublin at this week but I could not get tickets unless of course I paid a fortune :(

I did some of my Xmas shopping last weekend , bought four presents in 20 minutes -_- , all made in Ireland of course ;)
I'd just like to visit Oirland to experience a Full Irish Brekkie and to do a couple of pub crawls....

I've got the ELO CD back so can give it a listen tomorrow. It's got a really cool hologram on the front. It's quite neat actually. And a lyric book B-)

Also bought a brand new copy of Bat out of Hell for Kieran too and Len Goodman's Ballroom favourites for me Muvver

Talking of Len Goodman we were watching a programme on band music of the 1950s acouple of weeks ago and he interviewed Robbie's Dad. Seems they're friends from way back. They were swapping anecdotes. :)

I like Len Goodman, you know his Great-grandfather was Polish & looking t like he had that Polish shaped head :)

Are you doing your Xmas shopping then Laura , mine is very short & sweet, no patience shopping , I hate having to think full stop :P

Do you go to the Xmas markets Elisabeth , I love the Xmas markets abroad, went to Dusseldorf & Colonge some years back & loved the way they do it ... we have a nice market here , down in the old qtr , would not call it a Xmas market but that's where everyone goes around Xmas , great ambience & everyone in good form with fab food stalls etc

kind of - I'm not a big shopper Tess - I've done some - I much prefer to shop on Amazon

anyway latest on ELO - good CD - JL voice sounds in good nick - doesn't really sound any different from the 1970s. Sounds quite Beatlesque. In fact track 1 is called "When I was a Boy" sounds a bit like Number 9 Dream to me. :)

The Dutch usually invade the German Christmas markets :-) as we are very rational here. But to be honest, I am not the Christmassy type :-(. I hate that they already sell the 'speculatius' a Christmas bakery in October.

And I also like Len. he comes over like a real gentleman

Christmas starts nearly at the end of Sugust over here Elisabeth, they had a Xmas section opened in one the the big stores at the end of the Summer which is a disgrace. I am not a big Xmas shopper, mainly family & just a couple of friends, I think it puts pressure on people giving presents. I like the buzz in the Saturday market though, it's on throughout the year but is really nice around Xmas where you meet loads of people you know & say hello to :)

. I am very much a traditionalist ;)

Talked to my brother in Aussie again this morning, got an opportunity to ask him about Robbie, remember I mentioned talking to my sister in law about the gig & she loved it, my brother also loved the whole show, he thought that Robbie was excellent & also loved the band & the whole show, said he really got the audience going even before the show started & said Robbie was not afraid to go for it , good entertainer he said & well worth going to see.
