I know people who've dealt with shingles pain for weeks/months, before they cleared up....
:o

How very dare you! :smoke: :smoke: :smoke:

Anyway, I'm getting a bit better. Slowly but surely. At least the itching has stopped but I'm still in a fair bit of pain.

And Biggie is correct. Doctor Quack told me that when you get chicken pox as a child, the virus never actually leaves your body. It goes dormant and basically hides in your spine. Then (for unknown reasons) it decides one day to wake up. And it moves into whatever nerve it finds leading out from your spine. And follows that nerve all round from back to front or even up into your face. And that is shingles. And boy is it sore!

Talk about ' gettin on your nerves ' , pardon the pun -_-

Sorry Jups, I couldn't resist :P

I wonder why they call it chicken pox, what's it got to do with chickens ...any idea Biggy

I did see, in a wiki article, that there's no reliable idea as to how chicken pox was so named.....one idea was due to the spots resembling something to do with chickpeas...

Yuk !! I shall never look at peas in quite the same way again

I like this theory as to the origin of the 'chicken pox' name. It seems most likely to me.

* the term reflects a corruption of the Old English word, "giccin", which meant "itching". And as 'pox' means 'curse', the 'itching curse' sounds about right. :P

Evening by the by. :cheer:

Hello. I bought wallpaper today and not sure I like it now... :(

I'll send you the link if I can find it on Homebase site.

Hold on.

Looks good to me.

Get a sample bit, stick it to the wall, with sellotape for few days, if you change mind, can take back to shop.

I've done that many times.

I've got a sample. Looks fine on a small section of wall. Dunno if it'll be 'too much' when put up though. It's a really long wall

Hope it doesn't give me a migraine <_<

 Put more than one sample up then.

I got the new George Michael CD for mothers day today  I dropped a few hints that I wanted it

Anyways, I can't help but compare George Michael to Robbie at the moment.

This is Robbie's idea to doing something different :(

and this is George Michael singing, no messing around, quality singing -_- I wish I had gone to this gig.

George has a fantastic voice. Very underrated as a singer I've always thought. -_-
