December 18, 201311 yr I see no reason why they won't get playlisted, each and every one of their singles has so far and they're in a safer position now than they were back in the summer. Really hope this confirms it's the next single though!
December 18, 201311 yr Is this what usually happens with post album singles? No, this almost never gets done, which is why Issues, Work, Ego and Higher all have low charting positions before their peak, as that is when their physical/impact week occurred (with Issues that was the week it reached number 6, it then climbed to 4 some how)
December 18, 201311 yr If it's album only does that mean it'll get an official 'release' date? Umm, isn't that just the same as a pre album single?
December 18, 201311 yr Ah so people have to buy the album to hear the song... although that could just be because it was the most popular track on the album... but I hey it... smart idea. Is it what other artists do!?
December 18, 201311 yr If it's album only does that mean it'll get an official 'release' date? Umm, isn't that just the same as a pre album single? No, cause it's available with the rest of the album when you buy the whole thing. Ellie Goulding did a similar thing with How Long Will I Love You and that got to #3 in the end (with CIN but still a top 5 hit) Edited December 18, 201311 yr by JosephCarey
December 18, 201311 yr Pretty sure they are only doing this so people don't download the track before the actual release week. The label clearly only cares about top 10 positions.
December 18, 201311 yr The label are obviously looking for a top 10 and hoping that people pre-order ' Not Giving Up ' and the album sells more due to the fact that you can't cherry pick ' not giving up'.

Hmm. It has the potential to backfire completely though. I was lookin forward to seeing it's chart run from scratch not just a debut and drop situation.
December 18, 201311 yr I love this! For me I think the fact is The Saturdays should always do "Album only" for non-single tracks, maybe not for the first couple of weeks so the record label has some idea of which are the most popular tracks, but then album only so the album sells better and the singles perform better! EDIT: Think of the extra royalties from Spotify streams too! People will go to buy it before release (hopefully pre-order) and think "damn I can't buy it" so play it on Spotify? December 18, 201311 yr If they picked Not Giving Up as the single, I want a full flirtatious cheese fest for the video. ie, they are all Cupid angels and in a park on a spring day firing arrows at Random couples. And of course Mollie does it wrong and does the http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m20fdj9C5R1qa9n4vo4_250.gif Face If it is NGU I still want this for the video
December 18, 201311 yr joepassmore ... u r very intelligent :) Intelligent? Or obsessive? I'm thinking that they will release the usual EP and that if Not Giving Up gets decent airplay it will do well with pre-orders. People who can't be assed to dish out for the album would rather pre-order a 1.99 single EP.
December 18, 201311 yr I just want them to say about it already! They should announce on Christmas Eve the tour and single. #NotGivingUpTour or #LivingForTheWeekendTour ?!
December 18, 201311 yr I just want them to say about it already! They should announce on Christmas Eve the tour and single. #NotGivingUpTour or #LivingForTheWeekendTour ?! Don't forget they released 30 days from the album last year, could be The 30 Days Tour. Tad misleading and doubting it but you never know!
December 18, 201311 yr Don't forget they released 30 days from the album last year, could be The 30 Days Tour. Tad misleading and doubting it but you never know! THE 30 DAYS TOUR A TV series following pop group The Saturdays who have just 30 Days to organise and put on a brand new arena tour for the first time in over two years. Will they be able to do it? Tune in and find out. Only on some network that's even worse than ITV2 or E! (So F/ then?)

December 19, 201311 yr Not Giving up tour would sound better and responsible, rather than Living for the weekend....
