I thought it seems like a good time to make a thread for the lead single to Leona's Christmas album. As has been discussed in the album thread, the video is being shot today and from a Twitter Q&A we know it will be an uptempo lead single! :cheer:

 

Personally hoping for something in the vein of 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'. A nice uptempo Christmas song which doesn't seem to age and shows the singer's voice off. Hopefully Leona's managed to use this formula for her lead single!

The release date is most likely November 24th, a week before the album.

 

So excited for this! We could even get snippets over the weekend.

 

Also, Leona's album is motown inspired, so the lead single is likely to have a bit of motown influence. :)

We already know the single is "upbeat" Leona confirmed that also looks catchy judging by that tweet! So hyped for this and the Christmas album always wanted Leona to do Christmas album.

I have a good feeling about this single! Hopefully it might challenge for #1 (at least in that quiet, low sales week before Christmas week).

Personally, I'm hoping for Slayona to return and snatch the Christmas #1 from the X-factor winner.

 

But in reality, I'll be happy if the single sells 150k and the album goes gold. ^_^

 

Would be lovely for Leona to get a 4th #1 with it though! She would tie Geri Haliwell's record for most #1s by a British female artist.

Sorry to be pessimistic but what makes you think the single could reach number one? Particularly when radio are highly unlikely to give Leona any support. Glassheart flopped and it's not because it wasn't any good. Far from it. Christmas singles and albums are often harder to market. I wish I had your optimism but I think her latest effort might be the last nail in the coffin!

Ouch. I don't know I've got a good feeling and she's likely to perform on XF that week. Maybe it will have a Beneath Your Beautiful style effect! :lol:

It genuinely sounds like it could be a Christmas classic but I'm not sure whether any more Christmas songs will ever become actual classics. It has the potential though and it's what she needed to make this a success!

I just changed the title to One More Sleep but added a question mark since it's not confirmed. If it is confirmed as just an album track, I'll change it back!
