Well this year it has the advantage of being available on Now! Christmas right away. I keep checking the top 1500 to see if it's entered, shouldn't be too long now! :lol:

I have said this every year since its release, they should have the X Factor contestants perform it for the group performance Christmas week.

 

Or have it featured in the Talk Talk ads during the show.

 

Also I am happy Leona is away from Syco, but it is a little sad that the album has now been abandoned because of that, it had so much potential for a few more years. #JusticeforMrRight

But who would fund it? She isn't with Syco anymore, so she isn't going to fund it and Syco won't fund it when she is signed to a rival label, plus that rival label might not want her to be promoting her old work that they don't profit from, so it could never happen.

Really hoping it manages to beat last year's peak (#83) this year, I hated seeing it drop lower because of streaming last year, without streams it would have peaked at #59 I think it was.

It would be wonderful if it can make a top 75 return this year, where it sadly missed out on last year.

Last neet it was the FIRST CHRISTMAS SONG!!! played on PlugDJ for X16!!!!

The more airplay it can get the better, it needs it for it to make a strong chart return. With Leona now (unsigned) i do sense she will go back to syco, similar to James Arthur. I would like to see Leona perform One More Sleep on X Factor to get it more exposure for this year or even Strictly.

 

That said, i do believe i read Leona saying she never wanted to do the Christmas album and felt forced into it, should this story be true its likely she wouldn't promote One More Sleep even if the opportunity arose.

Leona isn't unsigned - she's still with Def Jam in the US. She doesn't have a UK label currently because it didn't work out with Island. Maybe she'll only have a UK label for distribution.

It's really short-sighted by her and her team - Mariah and Michael Bublé are earning major coins on their Christmas albums, hell even Mariah's lesser successful Merry Christmas II You re-enters the Holiday albums chart annually. I'm sure they could've worked out a deal with SyCo to promote this annually for a few years until it starts taking off on its own.

Pippa if Leona sang One More Sleep on X Factor again that would be really random. Strictly performance wouldn't happen either, lets hold those TV slots for when there is a new album not an old Christmas song lol

If one of the themes for this year's XF final is "Christmas Songs", maybe someone will perform 'One More Sleep'. Then there's the Strictly Xmas special. :lol:

I would like a Leona song performed this year.

 

I would guess only Matt or Sam (who is a big fan i hear) would have a go. I'd like something like Happy or something really random :lol: but i'd take anything.

Didn't they feature the instrumental on X-factor last year during the semi-final or final with all the xmas decor?

 

I just hope that Heart plays it more this year. That's what stopped it from climbing so much last year. They played it a lot in 2014 but didn't play it as much in 2015.

 

Good thing is that it'll be on Now! That's what I call Xmas right away. It did the best it's ever done on streaming last year because it was finally added to all the xmas playlists. It even charted in US spotify! I hope with all the stuff going on this year in the US that it'll climb to a new streaming peak there and may even get some decent airplay. :D
