Such a high quality contest though, if he'd read any further he'd have started hitting songs we actually like. Even Zechonia, Allecian and Ramrynia were decent. We kinda promised Terra Avium would receive votes so we can only apologise for possibly the most redonkulous snub of all time there and another huge commiseration to #00274E who came 12th. We could also pretty much throw bones to all of the following who all got at least 100,000 votes from the Persephonian public, enough for at least an 8.5/10 in our arbitrary votes-to-score conversion system: Elëdan, Mdiče, B.a.N.G, Jayrusalem, FSR Rontvia, Danaelanda, Vülkyria and Syndare. Basically you're doing quite poorly to NOT be on our commiseration list this time around. Anyway, time to stop messing around and reveal the proper votes from Persephonia. http://i50.tinypic.com/2lwn2uc.png fuck yeah 1 point goes to ESPEN who continue their run of spectacular form with the Persephonian public with DVBBS & Borgeous' 'Tsunami'. Persephonian voters apparently much preferred semi-final 1 as this received 8 in the semi and is still the third highest semi 2 track in our votes. 2 points go to PROJ with the Jónsi remix of Sin Fang's 'Young Boys' who thus receive a set of points from us that isn't a 12 for the first time since way back in BJSC XXXV when Herzebania still not only existed but hosted. 3 points go to one of the last two remaining tracks from semi-final 2, our good friends HENDINIA who we continue to vote for like every month and barely ever receive anything back from. Nonetheless, congrats to Scavenger Hunt with 'Lost'. Down 7 on the semi but 3 still means a lot when the quality is this high. 4 points go to FLJÓTAVÍK with the Starkey Edit of 'Experience' by Ludovico Einaudi. Despite getting more points than VAULTS last month we don't actually prefer this yet - 'Cry No More' grew on us quite a lot after the contest. This would still be a pretty great winner though, if the hype turns out to be true after all. 5 points are awarded to AQUAFINA, the Persephonian people's favourite dictatorship, with Alex Metric's brilliant 'Ilium' (feat. Mark Yardley). We're very pleased to have finally been able to support a few Aquafina entries this year and we hope this is a return to form for them position wise as well as quality wise. An absurdly low 6 points are awarded to Emika's 'She Beats' representing CADELICIA. This song, along with the 4 above it, received at least 500,000 Persephonian votes which converts to a ranking of 10/10. Now we're a fairly generous country with those but even for us an entire top 5 of 10/10s is utterly unheard of. They were almost set for another top 3 finish but TRIFOSKI have to settle for 7 points this time with a song we're still hoping will have a great chance of winning, The Kite String Tangle's 'Given The Chance'. Shame it ended up as the only 'Tangle' song in the final but we almost think it's the better one now. Another song we'd be utterly DELIGHTED to see win is that of AEROCHE, Man Without Country's 'Catfish', which gets 8 points. This reflects it not being quite as good as 'Puppets', still one of our favourite foreign BJSC entries of all time, but nonetheless Man Without Country have quickly become a very popular act with a consolidated fanbase in Persephonia. And receiving 10 points after being on course for 12 right up to nearly the literal last second, it's a second 10 in a row for a newcomer beginning with 'E'. I am of course referring to ETHANOLA. Ten Walls' 'Gotham' may be a little much to take in at a whopping nine minutes but the Persephonian public are clearly not bothered by the length and just love those chilling deep house vibez. Another country with a bright future even though this qualification was clearly a huge fluke. And so benefiting from our literal last second U-Turn, our 12 points this month incredibly go to USFLAND with Henry Krinkle's anthem 'Stay'. It's another long one - our top 2 clock over 15 minutes combined - but another incredible one. Usfland are a pretty inconsistent nation but when they get it right they get it RIGHT and this time they've clearly got it right. LOVE.
