the thing is album sales now are not gonna be "fans" so the single will still get a nice big boost in release week from casual buyers and fans who want the new mixes/support. plus if the album went back top 200 for the next six weeks while the single is being promoted it would have chance to double its sales figures

In comparison, anyone know where Kylie's and Pixie's pre-orders have peaked so far? I know they're currently sitting in the 1300s

The sales of the album are so extremely low there's a lot of room for potential sales from every kind of public.

First, they should get the 40k people who bought On Your Radar to buy this, and then the 100k who bought Headlines! It can't be that hard if they were already interested in the group once.

I think over time the pre-order and EP will fall but the album should hopefully climb and that's the most important thing.

It's nice to see 'What About Us' rebounding rather well from 'Not Giving Up'. Surely 'What About Us' must be only around 4,000 away from 400,000? 'What About Us' could go top 400 following the Brits tonight if it's used.

Album: Not Giving Up - EP

#68 United Kingdom

#85 Ireland

#90 Netherlands

#121 Panama

The Satd are already longer in the top 100 than Disco Love was on release day.

I was hoping the single version would have done a bit better today, but the EP seems to be doing okay, still. I'm assuming both will disappear soon and hopefully resurface when (if) airplay picks up.

Yes the EP, but I meant in Holland

They went to like top 40 before tumbling down the chart within hours. The fact that it has been top 100 since yesterday is promising imo. It shows there's demand and NGU does sound like something radio would play, but they're a girlband so that'll work against them

We have to remember that although the sales climate was low during the period of Disco Love, that this sales climate for the albums are ridiculously low at the moment. You only need to sell around 6,000 copies of your album to break the Top Ten at the moment.
Yeah. The album going back to like #250 on iTunes might sound good but it's still really barely selling anything. Unless it goes top 40 again or something then it's really not going to have any sales boost.

Kylie got to #204 last time I checked (Love her)

Currently: #1034 but it jumps and falls during the day. She relies on physicals much more anyways

Pixie reached #35

Currently: #620 although it keeps jumping to about #450 every morning. The EP dropped out of Top 100 by its 4th/5th day

Seems like evening affect (if there is such a thing) with the video is helping them?

To echo what some others are saying, even re-entering the Top 200 on the iTunes album chart won't do anything for LFTW. Most album sales are physical so a slight boost on digital can't make a whole lot of difference. Still, better than nothing :)

It's still nice to see it rising though :cheer:

Still, it shows that the song is liked, that people who weren't interested before are willing to pay for the whole album as long as they get the song NOW. It makes me hopeful for the future, when they build some airplay and promote it on TV.

Digit sales are highest during non holiday periods, a.k.a. the entire year bar Christmas/Mother's Day. And even if sales are dire it's popularity is what (at these stage in the charts) is fundamental. Too bad the album probably won't re enter the top 40.
