November 5, 201311 yr It's begun to really plummet now. Down to 45. It was a matter of time really, the radios haven't played it in weeks, so it's a miricle it managed a 4th week in the top fourty. They really could have done with the promo this week instead of next week. Oh well, at least it's probably hitting 100k now.
November 5, 201311 yr Author I wouldn't call that really a plummet. What it did in it's first week was a plummet, this is simply called a drop and it's not entirely due to no radio play as it was never really heavily supported, yet it went top 5. It's simply because there are many new songs that were released and made eligible for charting this week that drowned it out. They never promoted it and it was obvious it wasn't going to last as long as other singles from its initial drop, but 100k is a great improvement on gentleman and it should have some grip next week with the promo Edited November 5, 201311 yr by vivek

You kidding me?! They do more promo than any other group do...
November 5, 201311 yr They didn't promote it?! You kidding me?! They do more promo than any other group do... EXACTLY.
November 5, 201311 yr Author Haha sorry I'm so used to hearing that that I now automatically write it down :P
November 6, 201311 yr The promotion was quite spread out for Disco Love wasn't it? I hope Paul O'Grady's return gives it a decent push since I'm sure there'll be most public interest in it's first episode.
November 6, 201311 yr When all is said and done this will probably have sold more than Gentleman and 30 Days combined which is a nice accomplishment at this point.
November 6, 201311 yr They didn't promote it?! You kidding me?! They do more promo than any other group do... They don't get X-Factor, The Voice or Britain Got Talent, though, like the other groups...
November 6, 201311 yr They don't get X-Factor, The Voice or Britain Got Talent, though, like the other groups... It's obvious that they managed to never get an xFactor slot due to the fact that Simon Cowell doesn't rate The Saturdays and they provide competition towards Little Mix. The Saturdays' promoted really well with This Morning, Daybreak, Surprise Surprise. I guess we can argue that they could have done album signings as I'm sure they would have shifted an extra couple of thousand copies. Single 5 is needed to be announced within th next two weeks as does the tour dates.
November 6, 201311 yr Guess they are not waiting for anything else, but a sign from Queen Frankie, that she is ready to lead the band again ;) pulling massive sales and crowds.

The Saturdays' promoted really well with This Morning, Daybreak, Surprise Surprise. I don't think it's that. I read on Popjustice The Wanted actually paid X-Factor 250k for a performance slot. Their label just isn't willing to pay that slot for the girls. (And well it's kinda understandable)
November 6, 201311 yr Author I'm guessing if they had to pay 250 k then they would have to sell 250+ k for disco love, in order to get back it's money?
November 6, 201311 yr I don't think it's that. I read on Popjustice The Wanted actually paid X-Factor 250k for a performance slot. Their label just isn't willing to pay that slot for the girls. (And well it's kinda understandable) The Wanted are seen as direct competition for 1D too. It's funny, because Disco Love actually sold 15k MORE than The Wanted's song sold in it's first week with the X Factor slot. The Wanted also had a lot better airplay (It was in the airplay top 10 two weeks before it was even released). The Wanted have also tumbled down the iTunes Chart even faster than the Saturdays, and it doesn't look like they'll even have a second week in the top twenty. So taking this into account, whether the label are willing to splash the cash or not, I think The Saturdays deserved the X-Factor slot, Disco Love would have sold a lot more.
November 6, 201311 yr They don't get X-Factor, The Voice or Britain Got Talent, though, like the other groups... They did The Voice in Ireland which was surprising. Hopefully that will tie them into the next series (I can already see Rochelle bribing Marvin already ;) ) Not every artist gets these shows that have that much exposure. The Wanted didn't pay 250k for a slot. That's the fee they had to fork out for a private jet back to the UK to make it for the show (I believe). But besides that, like someone else has mentioned, just because the girls don't get these kind of opportunities, it doesn't stop them from being successful. Look at The Wanted, they had loads more support for Show Me Love than Disco Love did and look what happened. The worst-case scenario is that if the girls were to get a slot and they performed and the end result was that the single they promoted had done no better than 30 Days or a single that they only did some minor promo for. That would be rather embarrassing. I don't see why they shouldn't get a slot personally, they have plenty of achievements in their careers. But then you have to look at.. who has achieved more? For example, if it was between having Katy Perry or The Saturdays on, the execs are obviously going to put Katy Perry on.
November 6, 201311 yr In the 90s, The Saturdays would have been quite run of the mill, but given that everything has gone so dance, R n B, clubby, indie - Shows like The X Factor should celebrate some good old classic British Pop (might not be cool, but it's still good music - mostly), which there isn't that much of anymore.

I'm quite surprised that they didn't shove them on for Disco Week! Disco Love would have been perfect! Maybe there's a pop week coming up or something.
November 6, 201311 yr The guests this year for X-Factor have been Cher, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, Robin Thicke, Lady GaGa, and then Little Mix (X-Factor winners) and The Wanted (Global Radio connections). I'm not surprised The Saturdays haven't been offered a slot.
November 6, 201311 yr The Voice starts in January next year instead, which could tie in nicely for a performance of 'Not Giving Up' :)

The Wanted paid £250k to have a private jet to get back to the UK. No wonder they said they are skint! They hardly sell a thing, this album will struggle to sell 15k this week I reckon, not to mention Show Me Love has done barely anything, it's fallen all the way to #26 I think they are pretty much on par with The Saturdays Sales wise(These days anyway) I really don't see how they can afford to spend that much!?! I think Saturdays are selling a bit better. Disco Love sold more than their newest single without the radio support and x factor performance. And The Wanted haven't had a single sell almost 400k in the past year.
