December 6, 201311 yr Author So............... what did everything think then of the Palladium show that was on tv tonight? I'm pretty sure I am going to be in the minority here with my opinion. I've worked it out, it's kind of like marmite, you either love the whole swing thing, or you hate it. I'm sorry Robbie but I hated it :( I watched 45 minutes of the show and that was more than enough for me, I found it cheesy, embarrassing and completely over the top. I have not bought tickets for any of next years concerts, I was hoping that by watching the palladium show tonight it would change my mind on the way I feel about Robbies current music, looks and just general way he is now but it hasn't. I shall save my money until he does something I like. Harsh words for a long standing Robbie fan I know :( sorry if my opinion offends anyone. I'll be waiting patiently for him to get back to what I think he does best, I really don't think it's swing music.
December 6, 201311 yr Well, for me it was his best concert since Abbey Road in 2003. And my thoughts after finish were different than yours: I want to buy tickets for all concerts ))) Rob is on top form. The best performance was with Rufus. High Hopes, No One Likes..., If I Only Had a Brain are follow next. I'm looking forward to get Blu-Ray and hear Radiohead's Creep and Shine My Shoes in full version (~5 songs were cut for TV-version) Edited December 6, 201311 yr by Better Man
December 6, 201311 yr I didn't enjoy the show Sparkle. It left me totally cold. I have lost my Robbie mojo :( Except 'Something Stupid' with Miss Piggy. That was funny. I haven't bought the album and haven't tried for concert tickets. I'm not going to come onto BJ and lie about things. I don't like swing. I don't like these songs. I want Karma Killer, not If I Only Have A Brain. :( I want Robbie the rock star, not Robbie Mr Cheesy Light Entertainment. But I'm sure millions would have loved the show tonight. So, hey, each to their own. -_-
December 6, 201311 yr Author I didn't see the bit with Miss Piggy... @ Better man, hope you got lots of dosh if you want to go to all the concerts, tickets are mega money as usual so I've heard.
December 6, 201311 yr Because I've started to be his fan due to Swing When You're Winning =)) By mistake actually =) I was looking for Sing... but found only Swing on cassete. For guy who was only 14 that time it was something strange...to like swing...but Rob did a great work then. 12 years since that time and I like his swing very much even if I prefer Life Thru a Lens, Karma Killer and No Regrets. Just for me he is universal artist and does great work on stadiums and in theatres. He know how to be different, that's cool. Sparkle, thank you! Actually not yet... May is such difficult month at work as always... And there tons another tours are coming for 2014. U2, Arcade Fire, maybe Coldplay.... I really don't know how to reach all of them )))) I want to be a millionaire =)) Edited December 6, 201311 yr by Better Man
December 6, 201311 yr From http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-previews/wha...ams-one-2898295 Robbie Williams night at the Palladium may be what he was born to do 6 Dec 2013 16:38 This made-for-TV concert was timed to coincide with the release of his album Swings Both Ways, the UK’s 1,000th number one album http://i4.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article2893219.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Robbie-Williams-One-Night-At-The-Palladium-2893219.jpg I saw a T-shirt recently that read: “What if the hokey cokey really is what it’s all about?” And that was kind of the reaction to Robbie Williams’s show at the London Palladium back in November. What if, during his entire career up until this point – the Take That years, Angels, the soul-searching documentaries and all the rest of it – he was merely biding his time until he could launch himself as a cross between Michael Buble and Morecambe and Wise? What if, inside the credible pop performer there was a shiny-floored Christmas special just waiting to get out? This made-for-TV concert was timed to coincide with the release of his album Swings Both Ways, which has already ensured its place in musical history by becoming the UK’s 1,000th number one album. It’s the follow-up to his first big band release Swing When You’re Winning from 2001, which became his most successful ever. At the Palladium, the tone for the evening was pretty much set when he was introduced by Kermit the Frog. And if you were there but had the cheap seats in the Gods, you’ll be relieved to see in his duet on Somethin’ Stupid that Nicole Kidman hasn’t really let herself go – he’s actually singing with Miss Piggy. There are more duets with Rufus Wainwright and, wonderfully, his dad, Pete Conway. But amid all the glitter, the fat suits and the high-wire japes, there’s some genuine emotion in Go Gentle – a song for his daughter written with his old song-writing partner Guy Chambers. It’s proof the old Robbie is still in there somewhere.

December 7, 201311 yr I think I will like the love show during next Summer, this type of show I think you have to see live in order to appreciate it , there was too much action going on for my 36" tv screen , the camera was swinging all over the place & at times I could hardly see Robbie , they seemed to be very restricted with space on the stage but overall I enjoyed it . I like that kind of music anyway & the band were great Nice to see my favourite backing singers on stage last night , I hope they are with him on tour I wish Robbie would stop messing about with the songs & sing them as they should be sung
December 15, 201311 yr i loooved creep btw. massive cover so well adapted - musically.. Yes .. I am looking forward to his rendition of this song in particular, I love the original
