Ok, I'm confused. Can someone please explain to me the difference between this and the Billboard album chart? Their sales figures differ hugely. I'm looking at Cher's figure in particular, for the last 2 weeks. I don't understand. Her sales according to this chart are way higher than Billboard has for her.

Kelly Clarkson is releasing a Xmas album next week.

And her album is AMAZING. Especially considering it's a Christmas offering! 4 original tracks too <3

As far as I understand it, not all retailers report into HDD. The figures they release are only approx. estimates based on what they believe each album sold. Billboard then has the full final figure so all retailers report accurate sales info to them.

Cher's figure is probably so different as she had a concet-promotion tied into the album whereby you got a free copy of the album with every ticket purchase. HDD likely wouldn't have had access to this info as it wouldn't be coming from a typical source/retailer.
