RIP Lou Reed

iTunes :

71. Walk On the Wild Side - Lou Reed

81. Perfect Day - Lou Reed

255. Satellite of Love - Lou Reed

His musical legacy is more in terms of influnce, rather than commercial success.

That's bizarre - if you don't care how much your music sells, WTF's the point of releasing it in the first place??

She does care, but only in terms of the album. All the singles are released for is to generate potential interest in the album.

Surprised it took them that long to make no1. Why release on a Monday. The best song they are ever likely to do could maybe miss out on no1 with the lost sales.
Trying to work out which I would of preferred most - Waking up to find 1D at #1 or waking up to find your car has been crushed by a tree in a "storm".
One Direction  1

Their fans have just woken up

Midnight Memories US 800K first week? (Number 1 again on PO in the US)

1. One Direction - Story Of My Life

2. Lady Gaga - Venus (Explicit)

5. One Direction - Story Of My Life

Like I said... Theirs Pre Orders are MUCH higher than Hers... she will need to sit at number 2 in the UK and US Wrong day to release, they are the strongest ACT in the world.

01. One Direction

02. Lady Gaga ("Venus")

05. The Wanted

09. Justin Bieber ("Recovery")

12. Lady Gaga ("Do What U Want")

15. Tinie Tempah

Am I right in thinking "Venus" won't qualify either? Wish the label would realise what a mess this is making and just release both of them seperately; "Do What U Want" is going to have had some decent sales in the run up to Artpop, but no chart run in the UK. My thoughts on "Venus", sounding awful from last night; they made the right call to switch.

I actually really want One Direction to get #1 this week, Story of My Life is the best thing I've ever heard from them

But that's a bit short-sighted, given that singles sales are strong, and album sales are in the crapper...

Oh for god's sake, not everything is calculated for pure profit. Some people just enjoy making music, deal with it. (I realise this is slightly more relevant to your earlier point but I can't be bothered going back a page)

One Direction at no1 :puke2:

But that song at number 2!! Who's even buying that?

Yeah but she's been on this albums-only kick since Applause underperformed.

Lady Gaga was an absolute mess on the x factor, i couldn't stop laughing at how deranged she behaved and appeared

 Exactly what I thought! Deranged is a good word to describe it.

But that song at number 2!! Who's even buying that?

An army of robots manufactured by HausofGaGa whose only priority is to post good things about her on the internet and buy songs. After all she needs to show people she's still relevant even if it couldn't have been further from the truth.

Lady Gaga update:

02. Venus

10. Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly)

39. Applause

378. Bad Romance

409. The Edge of Glory

602. Poker Face

649. Born This Way

751. Telephone (feat. Beyonce)

935. The Edge of Glory

949. Just Dance (feat. Colby O'Donis)

1121. Marry The Night

1184. Alejandro

1273. Paparazzi

Story of My life - 119% Vs Royals - 58%.

But it won't chart like other GAGA's Promo, it's includes all the pre orders.
