Posted November 8, 201311 yr So the new album is out today in Ireland and Monday in the UK. How do people think it will do chart position wise and sales by the end of the year. Any other comments? Review have been excellent with DigitalSpy comparing it to Destiny's Child Writin's on the Wall, Sugarscape gave it 9.10 Edited November 8, 201311 yr by Mart!n Polls added.
November 8, 201311 yr So seems I voted by accident when trying to view the results and have no idea what they were for. I'm going to say #3, behind Eminem and Lady Gaga and on sales of 50-60k, so basically the same as 'DNA' last year (I suspect it'll have better longevity though.) I'll remain hopeful that it manages to do more though, since it really is a fantastic album! Oh and by the way, a 50-60k option is missing. Aaaand I've just realised that viewing the results is the equivalent of a null vote. Only took me a year. Edited November 9, 201311 yr by Defaze
November 8, 201311 yr I predict: 01. Lady GaGa 02. Keane/The Killers 03. The Killers/Keane 04. Eminem 05. Little Mix (30k-40k)
November 8, 201311 yr I can't see it doing 80k+ realistically #5, probably on sales 36k as Keane, Killers, Lady Gaga and Eminem will be ahead. I know I was a bit steep towards the end of the poll, but I can't see them pass 40k with other strong album releases.
November 8, 201311 yr I thought, as per the first post, that the poll was asking us to vote for sales up to year end, rather than opening sales?
November 8, 201311 yr "Where will it chart?" "On Sales of..." suggests that they mean the opening sales. By the end of the year, I'm thinking <150k. Depends on when they announce a second single and whether it'll be rush released for a Dec release, or get a Feb release.
November 8, 201311 yr Oops OK, I just read the first post: How do people think it will do chart position wise and sales by the end of the year. Which is why I voted 80k+!
November 9, 201311 yr I can't see it doing 80k+ realistically #5, probably on sales 36k as Keane, Killers, Lady Gaga and Eminem will be ahead. I know I was a bit steep towards the end of the poll, but I can't see them pass 40k with other strong album releases. They managed >50k last year. I know sales have declined, but I can't see them doing that much less with a stronger album. It also seems to cater to an older age range, so I'm hoping that might work in their favour.
November 9, 201311 yr Who says it's a stronger album? And even if it is, how many people would know before they bought it?
November 9, 201311 yr Who says it's a stronger album? And even if it is, how many people would know before they bought it? Just about every review. :P But yeah, probably should have added 'arguably'. And again... reviews. I don't know about anyone else, but I tend to read them before I make an album purchase haha.
November 9, 201311 yr I've predicted #4 with sales between 20k and 30k, it definitely won't be any higher than 40k I think.
