^ She's released way more than 40 singles, but a big chunk of her discography is French language material. Some of these listed songs aren't even singles!

I'm highly skeptical about 18k for Beauty and the Beast. I wouldn't be surprised if it was its download sales only, considering Millward Brown has only been tracking for OCC from 1994 onwards.

That has to be wrong for Beauty & The Beast? I know sales were bad in 1992 but it was a top ten hit that hung around for a few weeks! Aside from her two huge million sellers she's not exactly had any other MASSIVE hits, although I know she was a major album seller, still is apparently!
Were sales really that bad in 1992? 'Beauty and the Beast' spent 3 weeks in the Top 20. [14-9-16-23-42-55-74]

I think the 18000 given there must be a mistake, on average in 1992 according to Official statistic you had to sell 16,000 just to make the top 10, so it must have sold more than 18k, at an educated guess I'd say more like around 60,000 (maybe its 58k and put a 1 instead of a 5 by mistake..). Which is plausible as Call The Man just above it sold 80,000

Has no one spotted the glaring error that it was Madonna's Frozen along with Brim Full of Asha that broke My Heart Will Go On's run at number 1 and not It's Like That.

This is a post by Shireblogger on Haven, the estimates are his own:

Now I've had a good look at this, it pains me to say that the OCC have made quite a dog's dinner of the Celine Dion Top 40.

Basically, it seems they've ignored / overlooked her sales during the era when Gallup compiled the charts - i.e. up to early 1994.

What initially alerted me to this was the Peabo Bryson duet only at #24, on 18,000 sales. I note that today, the final sentence of that paragraph has been removed from the OCC website, as someone obviously spotted it was wrong. I reckon this track sold about 80,000 physical copies, so my guess is the 18,000 sales is downloads only.

Then I realised that The Power Of Love had sold considerably more than 157,000 in 1994. However, as it was released at the end of January, some of its chart run would have fallen into the Gallup era, and some into the Milward Brown era.

She had two other charting singles from 1992 that should be in the Top 40.

And it is incorrect for the OCC website to state that Where Does My Heart Beat Now dates from 2004 and never charted. It is actually a 1993 release that peaked at #72.

I'm also curious to know how they have treated One Heart and I Drove All Night. Most sources suggest I Drove All Night was the B-side to One Heart. Wikipedia says they were AA-sides, and the fact that the OCC has given both a chart peak of #27 in 2003 suggests they think the same. But what have they done with the original physical sales, which would have been somewhere around 10,000 copies ? Have they all been allocated to One Love ? Have they been split 50:50 between the two tracks ? Or have both been awarded a sales of 10,000 units, and then subsequent digital sales added ?

Anyway, here's what I reckon the corrected list should look like, with my own sales estimates added.

These 42 tracks give Celine Dion a career total of 6,900,000 singles, which aligns with the 6,700,000 that the OCC quoted up to November 2012. She is selling about 200,000 downloads per year, with My Heart Will Go On out front at an average of 400-500 copies per week, I think.

Hope it's alright to post this!

Great stuff Liam!!!!She has great songs!!! I noticed the wrong data with "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" too. I didn't believe that "Power O Love" has sold only 157.000 copies..I'm sure that it has better sales than they referred with their article..
