He's produced some pretty good songs, but I'm not a massive fan of him as a person. His really weird hate for The Sats..

Union J

George (SEXY), JJ (NOT QUITE AS SEXY AS GEORGE), Josh and Jaymi have provided us with THE album of 2013 (well, me, anyway) and their great efforts manage to sit them comfortably among the top 5 emerging and best artists of 2013. Not only did they get off to a great start what with managing to demolish District3 in every way possible on The X Factor, but they followed it through with their self-titled début album. I don't think I've looned for them like I have any other band. There's something so very special about them and they deserve to be so successful! Unfortunately their début single 'Carry You' narrowly missed out on the top 5 officially, but it was a two-week Sandénian smash. They've had a great year this year and they've done so much, but what does the future hold for them in 2014? Fully expecting another SMASH album like 'Union J'. They are quite comfortably ahead of One Direction for me in terms of boy-bands. So good.

Favourite track by Union J: 'Last Goodbye'
What should you check out?: 'Carry You', 'Beautiful Life', 'Last Goodbye', 'Where Are You Now', 'Amaze Me', 'Lucky Ones'
(all new music on 'Union J')

Gabrielle Aplin

She didn't sprout in 2013, but it was when she released her début album 'English Rain' and when she started to gain *more* recognition and deserved success. Gabrielle is probably one of my favourite artists in recent years. I discovered her early on in 2012, and she has gone on to impress me ever since! Such a good artist with beautiful song-writing ability. This year's probably been the best year for her. I wish I could have gone to see her on tour, but needless to say I didn't actually book tickets in time before she made her way to Edinburgh, oops. It's songs like 'Home', 'Salvation', 'November' and 'Evaporate' that make you appreciate an artist like Godbrielle (x), 'Evaporate' is quite different to most of the songs on the album (gettin' dat diversity). All she needs to do now is have a sit down in 2014 and work out how exactly she's going to come back with an album better than 'English Rain'. It's gonna be tough!

Favourite track by Gabrielle: 'November'
What should you check out?: 'Panic Cord', 'Please Don't Say You Love Me', 'Home', 'Salvation', 'Evaporate', 'Start Again', 'Liar and the Lighter'
(all new music on 'English Rain')

The Vamps

In at second for being simply one of the best acts of 2013 are The Vamps. They've been on YouTube for almost over a year now, and it's been great to follow them for that amount of time and watch them flourish in to a band that have managed to achieve #2 with their début single 'Can We Dance'. The early version of that song was really good, so it was great to hear that they actually went with it in the end! Now as they move onto their second single 'Wild Heart' (which was also made available online at an earlier point), let's hope they can live up to the success and continue to grow into one of the biggest bands that the market has on offer at the moment! The members are all so adorable as well (well, apart from Tristan who is a bit useless). Brad and James are just so cute (HOT as well). Their covers are quite simply among the best with their 'Just Give Me A Reason', 'Let Her Go' and 'Brokenhearted' (to name a few) ones being better than the respective originals! So yes, definitely one of the best new emerging talents (well, in the more public eye) of 2013, and here's to a very successful future for them when they release their début collection in 2014!

Favourite track by The Vamps: 'Can We Dance'
What should you check out?: 'Can We Dance', 'Wild Heart', 'Just Give Me A Reason', 'Best Song Ever', '22', 'Brokenhearted'
(all new music on début album; as well as covers)
Oh please ladies. Rob is too fabulous for this countdown.

We're not called #Lob for no reason.

Can We Dance is amazing, Wild Heart is also pretty damn good. Not bothered with any of their covers as I never do really for any atists, it's all about the original material.

(oh and I think #Lobseph could even be applicable here Lee *.*)

Elyar Fox

So erm yes. I actually FORGOT somebody (!!) and #1 is kind of split in two. Elyar Fox in at #1.5, but who is at #1.0? Elyar, like The Vamps, is somebody who I've been following on YouTube for quite some while now, and he has an amazing voice! Only now is it that he has been discovered and is about to release his début single 'Do It All Over Again' in January 2014. Although he would probably count for somebody who's going to SMASH in 2014, he also released a single in the Summer of this year, 'Colourblind'. It is such an amazing pop tune, and this practically confirmed that he is one of the best new teenage male talents, giving Justin, Cody and the likes a run for their money! Some of the covers he ha done on YouTube as well are so unique and different. And with his trademark 'hello' being "Bonjour" at the beginning of every video, it's what adds the small bit of humour. Oh and just like Justin and Cody, he has the SMASHING looks to go along with his fantastic voice! I'm very confident he has a great future ahead of him in terms of his career.

Favourite track by Elyar: 'Colourblind'
What should you check out?: 'Colourblind', 'Wide Awake', 'Boyfriend', 'Do It All Over Again (Acoustic)'
(all new music on début album; as well as covers)
He's good but nowhere near giving Justin and Cody a run for their money :kink:

He looks like they HAD A LOVECHILD.

Her Royal Highness Emeli Sandé

No, Emeli's not the one I forgot. It was NEVER going to be the case that she WOULDN'T be #1 in this countdown. She's absolutely the definition of 'artist of 2013'. After releasing her début album 'Our Version of Events' in 2012, she's gone on to give us some fantastic tunes this year. She's appeared on various collaborations with Naughty Boy, Rudimental, James Arthur, Tinie Tempah, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Smith, Professor Green, the Brian Ferry Orchestra, Alejandro Sanz, Jamie Foxx, among many others! I don't know if I'm able to pick a favourite, so I'll just do a very brief (because I could go on for ages x) low-down on some of them. Obviously her collaborations with Naughty Boy (this year!! excluding 'Wonder') - 'Lifted', 'Welcome to Cabana' and 'Pluto' are fantastic, the latter being the best of the three. It's a track where she just appears to sound better than ever; and she sounds so great next to Wretch 32. She also features on Tinie Tempah's album 'Demonstration', on a track named 'A Heart Can Save the World', which is a great club track! James Arthur's duet 'Roses' is another stand-out, they both sound so beautiful in-sync. 'Free' is *probably* my favourite, although it can vary from day-to-day. Collaborations aside though, her solo songs from this year really are fantastic! She has toured America and has débuted songs such as 'Who Needs the World', 'Half of It' (which is SUPERIOR to the original Rihanna version where she has no clue what she's singing about, because they are Emeli's lyrics of course) and 'Big Time Dreamers' - all amazing! So yes. Emeli Sandé is *the* talent of 2013, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us heading into 2014!

Favourite track by Emeli this year: 'Pluto'
What should you check out?: 'Lifted', 'Pluto', 'Roses', 'A Heart Can Save the World', 'Big Time Dreamers', 'Here It Comes', 'Half of It', 'Who Needs the World'
(all new music not on her own album)
Since when is that BAD

Propagation of this look is not encouraged by studies that desire a successful future of humanity.

Oh, and GOOD COUNTDOWN so far Calum xx

:cheer: Yay (Obviously) at Emeli being #1!! Great countdown so far Calum  xx
