June 17, 201411 yr Still useless, bloody idiots couldn't find that third goal I needed. I had Belgium to win and over 2.5 goals! I've also put Russia & South Korea to draw (BTTS) and I've also got Brazil -1.
June 17, 201411 yr I'm considering sticking a few on Mexico. They're 9/1. Chile are 5/1 to beat Spain tomorrow. All over that.

June 17, 201411 yr Brazil vs. Mexico should be quite a good game, I think this game could go either way, I think it will finish off as a draw 1-1.
June 17, 201411 yr The bookies will LOVE you. Chile are massively over-priced. Just fancy Mexico to give Brazil a good game. This Brazilian side are nothing special., Neymar aside.
June 17, 201411 yr That was a great match, the Mexicans were very unlucky not to walk away with 3 points I think.
June 17, 201411 yr South Korea and Russia was also a decent game. Howler from Akinfeev to make it 1-0 but Kerzhakov equalised five minutes later. Decent match, open group although you have to assume that Belgium will be fine now.
June 18, 201411 yr I thought Ochoa had a great game for Mexico. Overall I would say that Brazil deserved to win but the match itself was nothing major. I'm no longer believing that Brazil will win the World Cup as they lack quality upfront (minus Neymar). Fred is not good enough to be leading a World Cup strikeforce. I'm expecting Spain to knock Brazil out in the next round. South Korea and Russia was also a decent game. Howler from Akinfeev to make it 1-0 but Kerzhakov equalised five minutes later. Decent match, open group although you have to assume that Belgium will be fine now. I feel sorry for Akinfeev, I rate him very highly. I have no understand why he doesn't want to leave CSKA Moscow - He's a quality goalkeeper who should be playing for a premiership club. I still think that Belgium and Russia will qualify from Group H though.
June 18, 201411 yr Akinfeev was making mistakes left, right and centre in that game even before the goal. And the bastard LOST ME THIRTY QUID.

Because it's one from the best European (and best Russian) football clubs. Maybe not such ultimate giant as Real or Barcelona, but in top 15 clubs.
June 18, 201411 yr Belgium were seriously sloppy until about 60 minutes in. Still think they're going to the quarters mind.
June 18, 201411 yr So, having seen all 32 teams now, the only ones that have really impressed me have been Germany and Holland. Think most people would agree that Brazil and Argentina haven't been amazing and both need to step up a gear if the WC is to be won by a South American side.

Think most people would agree that Brazil and Argentina haven't been amazing and both need to step up a gear if the WC is to be won by a South American side. I'd agree with those two, but I've also been impressed with Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica (although they possibly just looked good playing against a poor Uruguay side) and begrudgingly the US who played their Ghana game very well tactically. I think the American teams still have quite a bit of life left. Ecuador weren't too bad either even if they did lose and Mexico are doing much better than I expected from the way they scraped through qualifying. I think I'm beginning to curse teams by supporting them though, either they go down quickly or as soon as they go up/equalise they make a mistake and the opposition scores another. At least South Korea did get a point out of that.

I don't know how much he can earn at CSKA but in terms of the quality of the league he'd be better off challenging himself elsewhere.
June 18, 201411 yr If Spain lose against Chile tonight, they are out. Never thought I see that coming so early, its a must win, they do need a couple of goals though. in case it comes down to goal differences, but I can see Netherlands earning themselves 9 points quite easily, unless it goes tits up tonight. After seeing all the countries playing, I think Germany and Netherlands could go all the way, unless they meet each other earlier on, Belgium potential. The South American countries need to step up a gear, but I am impressed with Costa Rica, Mexico and Chile. Brazil and Argentina still need to find their footing, and two howlers from Marcello cough own goal and diving. France and England hmmm, not so sure yet.
June 18, 201411 yr Germany and the Netherlands wouldn't meet each other until the final if they both top their groups. As of now I'd expect the QFs to be those two, Italy, England, Argentina, France and Belgium. As for the last spot I can't pick between Brazil and Spain.
