December 9, 201311 yr Sex Pistols' 1977 TOTP appearance was with the video for "Pretty Vacant" that Virgin supplied the BBC with, apparently against the band's will. In 1979 they also showed the video for "C'mon Everybody." Legs & Co danced to one of their other 1979 hits "Silly Thing." Each of the band - apart from Sid Vicious - also appeared in the TOTP studio as part of other acts (Public Image Limited, Rich Kids, Greedies). The surviving band members eventually appeared live as Sex Pistols in 1996 performing "Pretty Vacant" and "New York" completely live. Edited December 9, 201311 yr by eightiespopkid
December 25, 201311 yr Anyone else watching this? I'm finding it a bit underwhelming so far. And Tom Odell's currently singing "all my tears have been used up", how terribly cheerful for christmas day.
December 25, 201311 yr I'm watching, not really that great to be honest. Tom Odell has been the best so far yet I find 'Another Love' a boring song. :(
December 25, 201311 yr Bastille's not bad, probably the best one so far, although this is the first non studio performance of the show so that say a lot about the standard back in the studio. First proper singalong for me too (though that could just be because I'm alchohol free this year for once).
December 25, 201311 yr I think its good John Newman, chase & status, Rudimental & Bastille but now rubbish the Saturdays & boyzone!
December 25, 201311 yr That awkwardness during the "La la la" bits just before Sam sang. I think now is the perfect time to bring Top Of The Pops back more than ever, especially with the 50th anniversary very soon.
December 25, 201311 yr The Saturdays were decent but it makes me laugh how they're milking 'What About Us' as a desperate attempt to boost the album. :P
December 25, 201311 yr The Saturdays were decent but it makes me laugh how they're milking 'What About Us' as a desperate attempt to boost the album. :P Couldn't you say that about any of the acts performing on the show?...
December 25, 201311 yr They should bring back TOTP just have it in a not so important time slot, I'm sure it could get decent ratings in a less important time slot.
December 25, 201311 yr Couldn't you say that about any of the acts performing on the show?... You could but I've seen many performances from The Saturdays recently and they always perform 'What About Us'. Obviously it's a logical thing to do but it's still quite comical.
December 25, 201311 yr Hang on pal, they are doing their #1 - which was the fastest selling single of the year at the time. Would you rather them perform the worldwide smash Gentleman or Disco Love - the 4-piece single as a 5-piece? Also, the same could be said about every single act. The whole point is to watch a music show celebrating the biggest singles of the year and the christmas #1... What a twatty comment to make
December 25, 201311 yr When they do these highlights bits it feels like "here's the good stuff... but we don't want to give you that!".
December 25, 201311 yr When they do these highlights bits it feels like "here's the good stuff... but we don't want to give you that!". Lol it is like here is the good stuff but we could only get the Saturdays and James Blunt who will be performing at a shopping center near you soon too :P
December 25, 201311 yr Wow Ella Eyre has my vote for performance of the show so far, she actually is showing lots of energy and moving around the stage and stuff...

I'm just putting my point of view across. I've acknowledged the fact everyone is performing there biggest hits, just think before you post please.
December 25, 201311 yr Wow Ella Eyre has my vote for performance of the show so far, she actually is showing lots of energy and moving around the stage and stuff... Yea hope she's big in 2014, that's some hair she has, lovely looking too! Glad Ellie performed HLWILY instead of burn it'll hopefully stay top 10! Agree with Liam about the Saturdays they always perform that song anytime their on anything I've seen but so be it! Edited December 25, 201311 yr by steve201
December 25, 201311 yr That was a wonderful performance from Ellie, but coming immediately after Ella's really energetic performance meant it felt like someone pulled the emergency brake cord momentum wise.
December 25, 201311 yr I expected Ellie to perform Burn as that was her biggest selling single of the year, I really didn't like that track. OneRepublic, Rudimental and Bastille really stood out, I wouldn't be surprised if OneRepublic end up back inside the top 3 at the end of the week. The rest of the show was rather dull, the Saturdays weren't even that good, and I'm surprised Disclosure did not get a spot on it, since they had a brilliant year.
