So apparently Paula Seling & Ovi will be representing Romania next year with 'Miracle'.

 

 

'Playing With Fire' remains fantastic, but that little teaser doesn't fill me with hope for a great follow up.

It's a verse, which rarely sounds especially promising. Sounds like it's going into a pretty big chorus though (although it'll take a LOT to top the VOX OVERLOAD of Playing With Fire *.*)

A national final will take place on 1st March according to this article from ESC Xtra:

 

TVR has today confirmed Romania’s participation in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest and announced that “Selecția Națională” will again be the format used to select the entry.

 

Composers have from 15 January to 15 February to submit entries, which will be whittled down to a maximum of twelve songs by a pre-selection jury on 20 February. ”Selecția Națională pentru Eurovision 2014″ will take place on 1 March. It will consist only of a grand final, with the performance of the songs in front of a live studio audience and the result being made in a single show.

 

Among the artists that had already publicly signalled an intent to contest Romania’s national selection for 2014 are Paula Seling and Ovi Cernăuţeanu who have released this teaser of their submission, ‘Miracle’; a phone video from the recording studio gives more clues about the song’s chorus. Anca Florescu intends to compete with ‘Hearts Collide‘, whilst the first winner of Romania’s ‘The Voice’ competition, Stefan Stan will collaborate with TeddyK to enter ‘Breathe‘. The song is composed by Eduard Carcota who had created Tornerò for Mihai Trăistariu in 2006.

If every female-led dancey pop song ever made had one common baby, it would be this song. So generic and clichéd. Still sounds nice though.

I am loving 'Miracle'! :wub: Much prefer it to 'Playing With Fire' which I always have liked but thought was slightly overrated.

ESC Forum posters seem to think that there is a chance Alexandra Stan may take part in the national selection. There's a picture of a conversation with Alexandra's Facebook page asking if she wanted to do Eurovision and her reply apparently translates as "You will know my decision soon :)"

These twelve songs were among 159 submitted before the TVR jury and will battle it out on March 1st to be the Romanian act on the Copenhagen stage.

The show will take place on Saturday 1 March in Brasov, marking the first time it will not be in Bucharest. The winner will be determined by a combination of jury and public vote.

I *think* out of all of the songs picked so far, If I had to pick what I think is gonna win, I'd say this (I mean it's basically a rehash of every major dance pop song of the past 5 years).

Yet Luminita Anghel can't get back after like 456 attempts :(

If 'Glorious' couldn't get top 10 last year, I don't see how this can.

I don't want to underestimate this as I never expected 'Playing With Fire' to do as well as 3rd but I don't expect it to outperform that one. Do love it though, slightly more than PWF at this moment in time, and it has the edge as the best entry of 2014 so far for me.

Just got round to listening to this. Generically great! Not as great as 'Playing With Fire' mind, but this is so good. Perfect example of taking the current popular music trends and "Eurovisioning it up" *.*

An official music video has just been released for 'Miracle'! The dancers remind me of Ruth's music video :kink:
