December 17, 201311 yr Author Just a little disclaimer that I will have forgotten some songs and the order will probably have been slightly different if I did it on a different day... I can't wait! (and I only say that about a few countdowns) Oh yey, the Top 100 is especially where it gets REALLY good. Looking forward to this! Expecting some Naughty Boy slayage here :smoke: He may make an appearance or two (five) :kink:

December 17, 201311 yr Author http://i42.tinypic.com/aolz6r.png 191. Lady Gaga - Sexxx Dreams 192. Lily Allen - Somewhere Only We Know 193. Shy FX feat Liam Bailey - Soon Come 194. Don Diablo feat Alex Clare & Kelis - Give It All 195. The Saturdays - Disco Love 196. Bruno Mars - Treasure 197. David Guetta feat Taped Rai - Just One Last Time 198. Pink feat Lily Allen - True Love 199. Kanye West - Bound 2 200. Dizzee Rascal feat Robbie Williams - Goin' Crazy Starting the countdown (eek) is Dizzee's comeback, where the only success was getting Robbie Williams back on Radio 1, even if it was only for a limited time. Hearing Bound 2 nowadays just brings haunting memories of that video but even without it, it is a fairly weak successor to Black Skinhead. Another weak successor comes in the form of True Love which is in competition for the most non-essential guest feature of the year. Just One Last Time gets quite a lot of hate as it's fairly forgettable but I believe it rises above a fair amount of David Guetta's work. It might not be his best but it's still a decent song. The next two songs both improved on their predecessors but, yet again, are fairly weak when compared to other songs of the artists discographies. Give It All and Soon Come are two songs that looked to be hits but alas it never turned out that way. The three featuring artists have all contributed to some of my all-time favourite songs, although Liam Bailey should stick to his featured work as his solo stuff doesn't really cut it for me, unlike the other two. Somewhere Only We Know is both good and bad; good = Lily has a successful return to the chart, bad = it overshadowed Hard Out Here, good = it's nice to here a stripped down version of one of my favourite childhood songs, bad = it has more success than that song. I do feel that this is one of the weaker John Lewis efforts (I feel like I'm saying all of these songs are weak , I do actually like all of these songs!) so it's a shame to see it have 3 weeks at number one. Finally, Lady Gaga is at 191 with a song that will probably grow if she releases it as a single (PLEASE GAGA) and so could feature in next years countdown! December 17, 201311 yr Poor 'Story of My Life' :( I got excited there when I saw 'Bound 2' thinking it was Stooshe's 'Round 2' :heehee: YAY for 'Disco Love' and 'Sexxx Dreams' though <3
December 17, 201311 yr This chart should be good! Yay for 'Just One Last Time', really underrated in terms of David Guetta singles.
December 17, 201311 yr Here for this. And starting well with 'Bound 2' (haunting in the best way possible i hope?) & 'Sexxx Dreams' (yes must be a single, but not before 'Gypsy' and maybe 'G.U.Y.')
December 18, 201311 yr Author http://i39.tinypic.com/n6zk1.png 181. Example - All the Wrong Places 182. Daft Punk feat Paul Williams - Touch 183. Rudimental feat Foxes - Right Here 184. The Wombats - Your Body is a Weapon 185. will.i.am - Bang Bang 186. Ms Dynamite & Shy FX - Cloud 9 187. Noah and the Whale - There Will Come a Time 188. Little Mix - Change Your Life 189. Ke$ha feat will.i.am - Crazy Kids 190. Professor Green feat Miles Kane - Are You Getting Enough? This seems to be the fairly floppy section and so what better way to start it with one of the flops of the year. Despite managing to get all his singles from his previous two albums Top 40, Professor Green couldn’t even manage it this time with the first single. Seems like he’s gone back to the drawing board though as there’s been no news of new music since. Ke$ha managed to claw some success back with Crazy Kids which was deserved seeing as it’s much better than C’Mon which went nowhere. Change Your Life did fairly well but I feel that if they actually went with a proper video, it might have actually gone Top 10 and had a more successful run. Noah and the Whale had some FAB highlights from their last album but There Will Come a Time didn’t really match these and so has a relatively low placing here when compared to how much I loved the last era. Another flop comes in the form of Ms Dynamite who now just seems to randomly chuck out music whenever she feels like it. Cloud 9 follows in similar veins of Shy FX’s remix of Gold Dust. a song which Ms Dynamite also recorded a version of. (Oh the variety in today’s music industry!) Bang Bang shot up the charts after Leah McFall’s duet on The Voice and surprisingly, bucked this groups trend and became a big success! I really used to love it but it’s kind of worn thin a bit since and will.i.am’s ‘singing’ lets it down. Next is The Wombat’s floppy comeback, I’m unsure of whether it was just a buzz single or their lead single but their Radio 1 snub was fairly surprising. Anyway, it’s far from their best and so is why it ends up low down. My least favourite Rudimental single comes next and it made a brief appearance in the charts earlier this year. I love the steel drums in it but some of Rudimental’s better highlights will appear later… From an album that works better listened in full than individual tracks, Touch manages to make an appearance here. It perhaps might have helped stand out more by appearing between the two instant tracks on the album but I’m still a big fan of it. Another relative flop is All the Wrong Places which may have performed better than Example’s last previous two singles but still didn’t match his peak. I like the more aggressive nature of the song when compared to his past material but it’s not enough to place any higher here.
December 18, 201311 yr Author http://i44.tinypic.com/2sa0x3s.png 171. Stooshe - My Man Music 172. Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais- Summertime Sadness 173. Calvin Harris & Alesso feat Hurts - Under Control 174. The Other Tribe - My Girl 175. Tom Odell - Grow Old With Me 176. Disclosure - When a Fire Starts to Burn 177. Wiley feat Chip & Ms D - Reload 178. Dan Black feat Kelis - Hearts 179. Kendrick Lamar - Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe 180. Naughty Boy feat Tanika - Get Lucky Naughty Boy makes his first appearance here with a cover version of a song that is to feature much higher (oops spoilers). It does the hard job of breathing new life into a song that has been played over and over again throughout the summer. Next up is someone who deserves all the hype that is given to him although I still need to hear his album... While we await Kelis' return to music, here's a second feature from her this year. If you watch the video, you'll find that Dan Black actually beat Pharrell to the 24 hour music video (even though it's condensed into 3:36). One of my favourite songs of last year Can You Hear Me (Ayayaya) was followed up by Reload which surprisingly enjoyed after I wasn't particularly keen on first listen. It brought Chip(munk) out of obscurity only for him to fade back into it after the song's success. Disclosure's first appearance is probably the most well known album track from Settle. It's a really popular song but would never work as a single. Tom Odell is up next with Grow Old With Me, a song that quickly shot up iTunes only to stall and not really get anywhere. It's a shame as it was a great follow up to Another Love and helped to him to live up to the Critic's Choice Award. My Girl seemed to have premièred months before it's release so no wonder it didn't really get anywhere. I don't think that they'll ever top Skirts but it would still be nice to see them have more success. Hurts FINALLY have some success (and a Number 1) with Under Control. A somewhat random release, it was good to have another release from Calvin after his phenomenally successful 18 Months campaign. Now, Summertime Sadness is a song that should be a lot higher than this but it's now nearly two years old. It's the average remix that helps to boost it into the Top 200. Yey, another flop is up next again! This time it's Stooshe who had the career brought to an abrupt end by their label's decision to release a cover of Waterfalls. It's a shame as My Man Music is a funky reggae inspired song that should have done a lot better than it's peak.
December 18, 201311 yr 'Crazy Kids' too low. YESS 'Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe'. Absolute beast of a track, probably my favourite from him.
December 18, 201311 yr Author Poor 'Story of My Life' :( I got excited there when I saw 'Bound 2' thinking it was Stooshe's 'Round 2' :heehee: YAY for 'Disco Love' and 'Sexxx Dreams' though <3 Can't remember what Round 2 sounds like so no appearance in here haha. This chart should be good! Yay for 'Just One Last Time', really underrated in terms of David Guetta singles. It is, it's sadly always forgotten about and it's FAR superior than Play Hard. Here for this. And starting well with 'Bound 2' (haunting in the best way possible i hope?) & 'Sexxx Dreams' (yes must be a single, but not before 'Gypsy' and maybe 'G.U.Y.') Haunting as in why am I watching Kan n Kim on a motorbike
December 18, 201311 yr Author http://i40.tinypic.com/122g3mx.png 161. Neon Jungle - Trouble 162. The Wanted - We Own the Night 163. Jake Bugg - What Doesn't Kill You 164. Pink - Are We All We Are 165. DJ Fresh vs Diplo feat Dominque Young Unique - Earthquake 166. Eliza Doolittle - Let It Rain 167. Nina Nesbitt - Stay Out 168. Sub Focus feat Kele - Turn it Around 169. Daft Punk feat Pharrell - Lose Yourself to Dance 170. Bastille - Icarus This feels like a section of complete opposites  Bastille make their first appearance of many with album track Icarus. They’ve had an amazing year and I’m already looking forward to the next album. Lose Yourself to Dance pales in comparison to Get Lucky but if you take the latter song away from it, it’s still a great funky song that should have done better. Sub Focus have also had a very good year, managing a Top 10 hit which features later in the countdown. Turn it Around is yet another song in this lower part of the countdown that I enjoy but prefer some of the other singles from the campaign. Nina makes her one and only entry with Stay Out, it’ll be good to see what else she brings out. Although a title like Selfies isn’t give me much hope yet without listening to it :/. Let it Rain is Eliza’s only solo effort in this countdown and it should have been released as the first single. I love the way that the song builds up and it’s a shame that she’s now reached her inevitable floppage status. The love/hate Earthquake is up next and is something I HATED on first listen but it grew and grew. It’s worn a bit thin after many listens but still stands strong enough to reach the Top 165 (and what an achievement that is *.*). I first heard Are We All We Are through the Pink rate and it really struck me on first listen and I wish it was pushed a bit more as it makes a nice change to her other singles this year. Jake Bugg made his return even though it had only been a couple of months since he released his last single. The song is energetic which is what I prefer from Jake but it’s a tiny bit too short. The Wanted arrive in this countdown fresh from being dropped and We Own the Night is a LOT better than those other two singles this year. Unfortunately, it’s release kind of ruined things for the song’s success. The song has potential to be a lot better but ultimately the chanting ruins it a bit. Another controversial song is up next (those who hate Earthquake probably love this and vice versa ) but I think it’s a nice hot mess. It’s a bold stand out track that’s relatively ~edgy~. Their new track doesn’t really do that much for me and I can unfortunately see them being a one-trick pony.
December 19, 201311 yr Author http://i39.tinypic.com/mhprtk.png 151. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege 152. Ellie Goulding - How Long Will I Love You 153. Naughty Boy feat Gabrielle - Hollywood 154. Example - Perfect Replacement 155. The 1975 - Sex 156. Stooshe - Slip 157. Rebecca Ferguson - I Hope 158. Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time 159. Justin Timberlake - T.K.O 160. Gems - Medusa Medusa is the first BJSC entry to appear in this countdown and it’s performance in the contest is something I don’t understand. Perhaps with a few more listens it could have grown on more people. The year started so well for Justin with his return to music after many years but unfortunately it hasn’t ended so well. It was the messy dual release of Tunnel Vision and Take Back the Night which possibly killed the momentum. T.K.O is far from Justin’s best but when his best is it’s hard to compete when his best is so good. Olly Murs has also had a great year with him finally releasing more than one post-album single with Right Place Right Time being a nice uplifting song. Yet another weaker song than certain predecessors is I Hope but I still like the up-tempo Rebecca Ferguson and the repetition of the title doesn’t really annoy me as much as it does for others. What should have been a hit single, Slip did exactly what it said on the tin and slipped down the charts. Admittedly it does get a bit tiring after a few listens, hence it’s lower position on this countdown. The 1975 have been one of this year’s successful ‘indie’ bands and their first of four entries here is Sex. Perfect Replacement is probably Example’s best song from the last two years but after a while, his songs can get kind of samey which is why it’s not any higher. Naughty Boy makes his second appearance with the album track that marked the return of Gabrielle. It’s one of the standout album tracks and would have been a better pick for the fourth single if it featured a younger artist. (It’s sad that it’s come to this but it’s probably true). Ellie released the Children in Need single this year and surprisingly had a LOT more success than Girls Aloud did last year; she has two more entries in this countdown. Sacrilege hit me almost instantly with it's gospel style choirs and a great video featuring Lily Cole.

Hopefully the success of this means that the BBC will keep choosing good songs as opposed to boy/girlbands How Long Will I Love You gets too much hate, it's such a lovely song. Yeah, I think it was a perfect choice for the CIN single and has more meaning than a random boy/girlband song. It is a really beautiful song but it's not as good as some of Ellie's other ballads. Big YES for 'Get Lucky' (obviously the TANIKA version *.*), 'Hollywood' (so beautiful ) and 'Slip' (definitely one of Stooshe's best!) :cheer: Slip should have definitely done a lot better :(.
