Thinking about dodgy moments or choices like Forever is Over, Gentleman, My Heart Takes Over - and how they bounced back, Not Giving Up is a lot more bankable than those songs - so I'm sure they'll be fine.

I really don't see 'My Heart Takes Over' as a dodgy choice, I mean on that album there's better but surely for the time of year and run of singles surely it was the right time to try out another ballad. I think it just got lost with everything out, December's a difficult time especially with the terrible X Factor being about.

I agree. MHTO was not a poor choice.

I mean it opened on below average sales for them but around Christmas, like Jay said, it's notoriously hard to get noticed!

Well either way, what I'm trying to say is a positive thing. Like it or not MHTO was one of their weaker moments as a group (commercially) and I'm tipping GNU to be a bigger hit than those moments that are branded 'flops' by many.
Oh yes i definitely agree that NGU will be some sort of hit. If they are going to keep the track album only during release, I'm hoping it forces the single to got top 5 :D

Do you think we'll get the video this week coming?

I agree that Not Giving Up should become a hit for them, but in their case most predictions are often useless. All Fired Up sounded like it would join the league of Up, Ego and Higher, and it ended up very far from that.

Personally, I'll be happy if this ends up selling 100k+ like Disco Love and it makes the album go back in the top200 for a few weeks.

It'll be a bit but I honestly think top five is being quite optimistic! (I really hope I am wrong and you guys are right but y'know) :P
If NGU doesn't go to #1 (which is almost definite), I'd like it to chart at #6, so we can finally have a full set of top 10 peaks!
I can see this doing well, its fresh sounding for Sprnig, it sounds awesome in a club (requested it last night), if they hold back the release and have a full blast of promo to celebrate the return of Frankie, I don't see why not. Capital will be all over it and I see Radio 1 playing it too.
It's got a traditional release so we should predict this the same way we would predict any other held back release. This is much better than Gentleman and Disco Love and more radio friendly than both of them. I'm going to say it'll outperform both of them but sell alot less than What About Us.

I agree. Probably similar to 'All Fired Up'? (Top 3 and going silver seems very possible).

:cheer: I agree with all of this!! It's nice to see the management doing something that SHOULD benefit the girls for a change :yahoo:
Yeah I can see a top 3 with sales of about 200,000 or so if they get the promo right. Genuinely excited for this release and will be nice to see Frankie back for her awesome middle 8
I think that might be why Frankie seems most geeked about the release. It's one of the only album tracks where she actually has a prominent solo. Poor girl :(
Glad Frankie mentioned promo already, I'm hoping for some decent TV slots. My mate at Polydor said the video was one of their best. So I'm thinking they're putting some effort into this campaign.
Can you imagine getting the voice and dancing on ice? We can only hope :)

Sounds promising! Do you or your friend know who directed it? :) In the mailer it said the director had shot some of their favourite videos of 2013, just curious so we can check out those videos and look at the directors work. :P

I think this will do a Forever Is Over : top 3 (because of Album-Only), selling around 160-165k in the top 100, and adding some 15k-20k when selling in the top 200.

It's not amazing by any means, but when 3/5 of your last singles sold less than 80k and the very last one sold 130k, I don't think we can be picky.

They are releasing it against the Sport Relief single which means they won't get to #1. It's sad because I genuinely believe they stand a chance for the #1 spot the week after.

There's no guarantee for the sport relief single to go to #1. it's not like the comic relief that usually does plus word upnisnt exactly the beat song now is it, anyway regardless, I'm looking forward to a Girlband chart battle ;)
