What is the criteria for the Brits? Like with the grammys, all nominations must have been released before October the something?
Looks like Trevor Horn will receive the Outstanding Contribution award!
I think the Brits inclusion period is a bit different to the Grammys, which appears to be something bizarre like September to September as you often get 18 month old albums winning awards. I think ours may just be January to December inclusive.
Isn't it an open secret that they just give the awards to the people who bother to show up?
The British singles are nominated by the top 15 best selling British singles of the year. Then people vote on the best one

So I make that to be:

Passenger- Let Her Go

Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith – La La La

Bastille – Pompeii

Rudimental ft. Ella Eyre – Waiting All Night

John Newman – Love Me Again

Ellie Goulding – Burn

Olly Murs – Dear Darlin’

One Direction – One Way Or Another

Disclosure ft. AlunaGeorge – White Noise

Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding – I Need Your Love

Lily Allen – Somewhere Only We Know

Duke Dumont ft. A.M.E – Need U (100%)

The Saturdays ft. Sean Paul – What About Us?

Jessie J – Wild

Calvin Harris ft. Tinie Tempah – Drinking From The Bottle

Bet some people will be thrilled The Sats are nominated.

Haha the artist forum's been buzzing for weeks now :P. You never kno, they may change it but it's unlikely
Knowing the Saturdays' luck they'll change it to top 12! :D

It's normally only the Top 10 but it appears that they changed it to Top 15 last year so that Adele could be nominated and then win. Every year the public have chosen the winner for Best British Single apart from last year. They wanted Adele to win an award so that she could make a proper speech after she was cut off the previous year by Blur.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't know whether they will keep it to Top 15 from now on.

They're unveiled at 6pm according the their Twitter Account.

However, they have revealed that Rudimental are up for Best Group, Album and Single. Birdy and Jessie J are up for Best Female and La La La for Best Single.

If they didn't mention Jessie for Best Single, they've probably reduced back to 10 songs!

Looks like I'll be carrying on my YEARLY TRADITION of announcing the Brits nominations live on here.

Yeah I think that's true as they're announcing what each individual been nominated for what.

Birdy up for Best Female? What utter shite.

I know, and I bet Dido is robbed of a nom  :P

The thing is, if an artist doesn't have the radio airplay or sales, they need the critical acclaim to secure a nom (see PJ Harvey / Bjork). If Dido gets a nom, I may pass a kidney stone.
