I don't think Gentleman is well known enough to be an opener. I imagine them performing that with a similar routine/set-up to Work on the AFU tour. Notorious and Higher won't be openers as they've been used before. My money is on Not Giving Up if it performs well. I'd love it if they went straight from Not Giving Up into All Fired Up. Depends when the tour is though, if it's at the end of 2014 when they've released another single or album, they may use the lead single from that campaign.

Yes, I think a big worlwind of smoke and lights and then you see the queen... 'You took my heart, from the dark....."

Also, I guess it will depend on when this tour is happening. Im actually getting bored of the mystery now :(

Maybe they could open and close with What About Us, since it's their biggest hit and first #1?

Yes - very similar to the OOC tour where The Promise was used to open and close, and the ROTSG tour where Spice Up Your Life was reprised to close.

Not Giving Up would be a cool intro to the show. And an explosion of fireworks after Una's 'walking on the edge til we're crashing down' at the start as it goes into the first chorus. Don't know what they could do for the entrance though... they've come down from the ceiling with the Notorious lift, up from the floor with Higher. In from the sides? :P

I've decided that they should open with Disco Love, I am not sure how but I would like Mollie, Una, Vanessa and Rochelle to appear on the stage and just be them four on stage untill the bridge, where Frankie descends from on high like an angel to "sh-sh-sh" her way into the heart of the world.

Or some nifty rollerskating from the sides, abstaining from falling off the stage and dying of course. :kink:

I don't think that is a good idea if we look back at this! Arms all over the place and needing support ;)

Just thought I'd let you all know, my friend went to Wembley yesterday to meet the girls after supporting Mollie on The Cube (apparently she did really well). He asked them about the tour. The girls basically have no idea when it will be. Nothing is booked. :(

Just annoys me that they say "coming soon" when really, it's absolute bullshit. Kinda knew this would happen. Obviously, it's not the girls' fault at all. Somebody making decisions is probably saying no because of poor album sales. It's a shame, I feel even with poor album sales, their single sales have been mostly decent, and they could have organised a theatre tour along the same lines as Headlines. The girls' don't put on MASSIVE performances, so the venues would have worked fine for them.

Thinking about it now, it's too late to tour Living for the Weekend. If they tour this year, it won't be until Winter time. If they were releasing a new studio album, I'd imagine that would have been partly recorded by now. So it will have to be a Greatest Hits tour. If they want to tour, I don't know what else they could do.

They seem to be stretching this era out. Minimising cash losses etc... They will tour (they were most likely toldnnot to tell anybody when) and when they do it will probably be only a theatre tour. They've confirmed the tour isnhaooening via the mailer etc... and we're due a new single. if the single keeps afloat and helps the album they may day the tour sinner rather than later.

  • 4 weeks later...

As there has been alot of discussion and hints in flips/videos about them shooting and its confirmed to be announced etc, I thought i'd start the discussion on this topic/thread. :D

What's the big secret then if they've told us its for the tour? Maybe they're shooting for a Greatest Hits album cover. <_<

Both, who knows? Just seems a bit odd how Una tweeted a fan saying last night during #AskMrsFodes when NGU release date is announced the tour would be, this video detailing some of the shoot and general "we will tour" going on since the Gentleman promo?

Please let it not be called "The Living For The Weekend Tour"

I agree, awful name for a tour. I am still in love with the idea (credit to whoever jokingly said it), the 30 days tour - a reality TV show that chases the girls around a 30 date tour or something like that

It's hard to think what they'd call the tour other than after the album or single titles though? Maybe they are having a Greatest Hits album with this being a greatest hits tour?

I see what you mean, but would there be interest in a Greatest Hits album so soon?

That was me!! #creativemind #legendaryshadow

I want a small intimate tour. I saw them at Hamilton Racecourse in 2010 and it was awesome 'cos I was so close to the girls and there was such a brilliant atmosphere. When I saw them at the SECC for their 2011 tour it wasn't quite the same. The Sats were great themselves but it just felt like you were watching it all on the huge screens and it was just too big a venue and meh.

Smaller gigs rock. :D

I prefer arena tours if I'm honest. Small venues just feel like going to a school show. I remember when I went to see them at Wolverhampton for the Work tour the chairs were just like the ones we had for assembly at school. And we weren't allowed to stand! Majorly pissed off at that. I just think arenas have a better atmosphere and the show is just so much better for it.

Also the fact that the LG Arena is just 15 minutes away from me so it's a lot easier for me to get to!

It wouldn't make much sense to launch a Greatest Hits album with a post-album single but, as this is The Saturdays, it would still probably happen.
Never know, may end up being a combination of big and small arenas. As long as its post-summer and they have a Brighton venue, I'm on it!
I can see why people would rather smaller venues but I prefer arena tours too - they're more of a spectacle/show. The atmosphere at Wembley for the All Fired Up tour was brilliant.
