I said the exact same thing and almost nobody agreed with me

Finally someone with the same opinion as I have!

It wouldn't be as bad if they did a mixture - like if there is scope for two dates in Manchester 02 Apollo (used for Headlines!) thats 7,000 tickets - the size of most medium arenas!

Apparently, if these guys are truly reliable, they'll do that one twice.

Greatest Hits are so boring and it would be even more the case in this time because you just know the label won't even try.

They will take a leftover for the lead single and some cheap tracks they never used because they were so shit to fill the rest of the GH and then expect the GH to sell loads of copies.

f*** off.

If they go for a Greatest Hits, then you better give it your all. No holding back.

I imagine the Greatest Hits campaign will consist of a brand new single ("risky", "experimental", "something we've never done before" pish like Gentleman, Missing You or Forever Is Over) that underperforms. They'll have an insanely awesome new track (ala Higher, Ego, Not Giving Up) left on the album that will never see the light of day, and they'll spend most of the promo miming to What About Us. It'll probably chart at #11 or something and sell even less than Living For The Weekend.

I want them to do a Greatest Hits but their singles choices are so horrific at times that I'm not sure if I want them to take the risk and have the campaign flop or not.

This is tragic! Greatest Hits tour is going to be so dry especially for those who love LFTW!

Dry? With the amount of hits they've had?

I think a Greatest Hits is the best possible option right now. If everyone who bought 'Living For The Weekend' went to see them at the O2 in London, there would still be empty seats. :(

Yeah but think of how many other good songs they've had on their albums! With GH it'll probably end up being all 17 singles and a few covers -_-

I never understood why you always say their singles choices are horrific.

If there's a girlgroup in this world that has an AMAZING singles run, it's them.

That never was their problem. The problem with The Saturdays was that they never released enough singles.

My Heart Takes Over flopped, but it was a great song to be released as a single. It wasn't dreadful in any way. The only problem is that 'Get Ready Get Set' and 'Faster' were great songs too that deserved to be released. Does it mean they should have chosen one of them instead of MHTO? No. It means they should have released MHTO, GRGS
and
Faster.

'One Shot' was a great song. Would I want it to replace 'Forever Is Over'? No. I wish it was the third single.

etc.

If anything, their risky/experimental has paid off for 'Missing You' and 'Forever Is Over'. One sold 220k, the other one sold 185k. One was #1 on airplay, the other one is always well-received during festivals.

'Gentleman' really shouldn't have done that poorly. Before it flopped, we all pretty much said it would go top 10 without doubts.

A Greatest Hits tour would just the same as a normal tour anyway except with a different name and a few minor setlist changes.

Living For The Weekend tour - all singles besides If This Is Love and Missing You. About 5 album tracks from LFTW.

Greatest Hits tour - all singles, One Shot, Get Ready Get Set, a Greatest Hits album track and a couple from LFTW

It's not like there's really much of a difference.

Twitter is in uproar over potential theatre performances

All I am saying is there are some really good non-single tracks which I fear could get disregarded if it is a GH tour!

I know that anything surrounding The Saturdays always seems to tend itself to the dramatic side BUT I do strongly believe their next release will be a Greatest Hits. No matter how well Not Giving Up does, no matter how many flops they've remarkably turned around, there is always a lifespan in the terms of radio/TV support a music artist gains. It's very impressive for them to sustain the support for 4.5 albums especially considering how they have had many things go wrong for them and I don't know if the support will continue for another full studio album, especially with Gentleman and Disco Love being the first singles to only go B-list.

So in other words you think the end is near?

Greatest Hits =/= the end tho

I use this every time but...

Fixed it.

It will never happen guys. Get Ready Get Set, One Shot, Chasing Lights, Fall, Karma, Lose Control, White Lies, all these tracks you like will never see the day on their Greatest Hits because they have 18 (17 + 1 lead single) singles to choose from for both the CD and the tour.

This is what I am getting at with GH tour - so many amazing songs that will just be ignored (lesser so if it were LFTW as we like our leave a light on and lease my loves etc!)

I think the end might POSSIBLY be near depending on how well a Greatest Hits would do. I'm not trying to create any drama here though, just expressing my personal opinion based on the current facts, not only surrounding The Saturdays but also surrounding the current music business.

I suppose if Not Giving Up is a big hit though (250,000 >) then a full studio album will be on the way. It's just that sometimes, once a Greatest Hits is released, it can be the tipping point in terms of how much support an artist can gain ie they can loose it as it shows the age of the particular artist and I don't think The Saturdays have had enough big success to sustain it after a Greatest Hits.

Completely agree!
