I think 'Another Love Song' is a bit of a bad choice if it indeed is her next single. It would have maybe worked as a 1st single as Jonjo mentioned but her support is strictly Radio 2 now, that kinda EDM influenced song will be completely lost on the type of more 'mature' audience that the campaign is being driven towards. Radio 1 and Capital won't play her, and that's where ALS would get any recognition. She needs to release 'I Got You' or 'Power' for the winter - they won't do anything as singles but would probably sustain some album sales through Q4.

Out of curiosity, who did exactly fund the production of this album then? SyCo? Seeing as she co-wrote/produced it all with someone she considers a friend that too must've reduced costs quite a bit.

I think Leona funded the tracks she did with Toby Gad. They worked together on some songs when she decided not to renew her contract with Syco but was yet to pitch to another label. She's probably earned a lot over the years and has saved so I wouldn't be surprised if she funded it herself. Either that or her new management did. Island would've funded Diane Warren, TMS etc though. Although Diane said she wrote 'You Knew Me When' especially for Leona so I don't really know how that would work in terms of funding.

Wow, I really expected I Got You to be better than it is :/ Meh, so average. I think of the songs we hadn't already heard Ladders is my favourite but I agree it's all just quite "nice", no real big standouts apart from of course Another Love Song and maybe Thunder although that's way behind really. It's a good little album but I doubt I'll go back to it much outside of ALS, Thunder and maybe one or two others.

Everyone else seems to really not rate TEOM. It's one of my stand-outs. :(

#12 on UK iTunes still, maybe the performance tonight can push it inside top 10 - would be nice to see it in there, lets see...

#32 on US iTunes.

I really like it! :D It's grown on me massively since we first heard it.

Loved this so much more than I was expecting

Up to #31 now on US iTunes.

Oh I see, thank you for the response!

The album has been climbing on the Amazon chart since before its release; up to #29 (Deluxe) and #55 as of this moment.

Just relistened to YKMW in HQ. Disregard my previous remarks (for anyone who read it :). I think the song is so flawless. My video idea is a theater actress under constant harassment by her director. The singing portions could simply have Leona walking backwards in various London streets...kinda like Beyonce in one of her videos...don't remember. But I think it would be a good effect coupled spliced with drama from tense confrontations with a director...stressful time alone in the mirror...emptiness to her popularity (people cheering you at the premier of a new show but your face remaining dead with impassiveness). Just thoughts. And yes, I love TEOM too. Splendid song!

They simply have to go with Spotify in determining the next singles. Spotify makes it super-easy to pick out popular songs from an album.

Haha, I just watched that Beyonce video. I don't mean that kind of jerky backward movement...just reverse slow retreat as she sings.

It's not as easy as going by Spotify plays. If you take out the songs that were already available to stream, the play count decreases for every song as the album progresses. So it could really mean that people are stopping listening to it without getting to the end. The first album only song (YKMW) has 16k streams and the last song on the deluxe edition has just over 3k streams.

Comparing that to Bring Me The Horizon's album (out for the same amount of time), where every track is over 190k streams, you can really see the huge difference in popularity. There's just a complete lack of interest in this album.

I hope things improve a lot next week. It would be criminal if I AM sell over 1 m worldwide (way over)...not with YKMW, Thick Skin, Thunder, I Got You, FUMF and Power on the album. I await to see the European strategy. They seem very receptive to new music.

The Standard version is first, people might not have seen the Deluxe. Only the deluxe songs really differ in song plays. You Knew Me When is simply a peak, the rest is 7k-9k ish

1 million worldwide?

That will never happen! She'll be very lucky to sell 150k at this rate. Unless she stumbles on a miracle, she won't even get above 30k in the UK!

Madonna isn't even over 800k worldwide with Rebel Heart and that opened to 100k in the US.

Just listening through the album and it is much better than the singles would have you believe, only Thunder out of the three singles would probably be in the top half of my rankings I think! All the tracks come together very very nicely in the context of the album and while there's no massive stand-outs (except Another Love Song), it is very consistent as Jonjo and April say.

There's potential for this to become my second favourite Leona album behind the flawless 'Echo', and 'Another Love Song' must be the next single (and apparently the TV advert for the album says it is one of the singles so it looks like it is next!).

It's interesting that now I'm listening through headphones, the album isn't sounding as good as it did through my sound system that I used yesterday. I think the production of this album is what lets it down significantly, as the production is a lot more prominent when listening to the songs closely through headphones. This is of course what Ryan Tedder and co. did so well with 'Echo'.

An advert was used during Xtra factor and it boosted the album up a place on iTunes. Hardly anyone watches Xtra factor compared to the main show so it goes to show that an advert durin X Factor would have done wonders, as it helped more than the Lotto performance!

(Is there another episode tomorrow? If so, fingers crossed)

Do you think the Hyde Park gig will have any effect, apparently it's a 50 minute set and it's broadcast on Radio 2 and you can view it on the red button live.
