Posted January 5, 201411 yr Eusébio da Silva Ferreira (a.k.a The Black Panther) has passed this morning at 4 a.m. at age 71. Widely considered one of the best football players of the 20th century, the Mozambique-born Portuguese legend won the European Champions Cup in 1962 with SL Benfica and was the top scorer of the 1966 World Cup. mn-PZN4HwPQ
January 5, 201411 yr Amazing player. Deserved a winner's medal after his efforts in '66, and a shame that he never saw Benfica win another European trophy.
January 5, 201411 yr It's sad that there is so little film of him playing compared with the amount available for players today. He was still playing when I started taking an interest in the game but I'm pretty sure I never saw him on a live match or even in highlights of a match. RIP
January 9, 201411 yr late RIP but a true legend to the game, never saw him play live, but seeing him online he seemed such a nice bloke with more talent in 1 foot than many modern footballers have in their whole bodies. RIP :(
