I thought that too after tonight's episode. She's not really had a chance to prove herself but I thought some good potential shone through tonight.

Stacey is away to visit Jean <3

I almost died when I heard her voice on the phone

The actress who plays Cindy is very good.

I find her utterly monotone and charmless. Pointless character.

They honestly need to make Alfie and Ian DISAPPEAR. Two equally awful characters.

Agreed!

And Ian plus Denise?

Also yeah she is a good actress, which makes Liam seem even worse :arrr:

Knew Kat would do it and make the statement, completely forgot about Jean being there though for Stacey. Reckon Stacey will stay away at Jean's till after the trial now when Janine can safely change her statement?

Been v. impressive this week, I hope Janine gets off!

Does anyone know any spoilers with that as she is a much more worthwhile character than Alice and out of her and Alice for a future return, who'd bring the ratings/ storylines?

I think the only comments made is that following Janine's arrest, there would be an exciting final chapter to the story. I think Charlie who plays Janine said in an interview that the door would be open for a return.

Ah ok.

It makes sense as Janine is far more valuable to EE. And not just Janine: Stacey!

As now Stacey's return hinges on Janine getting off!

It's quite clever how they've done it, as now they're saving 2 of their best actors/ characters at the expense of a less popular one. Imagine the uproar if Janine gets off and Alice doesn't in RL and the Square!

Are we gettin a gay domestic abuse story coming up by the way? Be an interesting, and not covered before in any soap, issue to tackle.

Also, adding to the praise for Charlie and Lacey, excellent actors the pair of them and great to see them working with each other again. Chemistry's great.

Wait, the article has spoilers about supposed upcoming scenes in regards to Janine:

And another, with pictures this time (and by the way the link address has the spoiler right there sooo only uncover if you want to knoow):

And this might explain it:

http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/eastenders-bosses-forced-rewrite-alice-branning-janine-butcher-murder-trial-showdown-jasmyn-banks-quits/ Alice quit, so maybe now it made the decision even easier to use Alice at the expense of Janine/ Stace

News about Dot's upcoming storyline:

Police tell Dot that Nick has died in prison

There's already speculation that he won't really be dead, not sure what to think but I kind of hope he doesn't return - I've been watching clips of old Eastenders episodes and considering Nick is a classic character, his return in 2008-9 was really bad and the acting wasn't great

No great loss, I remember cringing at his comeback

We're in an Eastenders thread, not a thread dedicated to drama going on between Russia and the rest of the world. Talk about needless censorship

I'm well aware this thread has nothing to do with Russia. It also has nothing to do with Konnie Huq or sausage rolls either.

Just because it's a soap doesn't mean the discussion has to be low brow, gratuitous or spammy. If the posts had more substance to them or an explanation as to why they felt so strongly that'd be totally different...

...but you're acting like we're in some kind of intellectual debate. "No gratutious or low brow posts about fictional soap characters, please!!! Only insight which has substance and profound meaning!!!" Who cares if a fictional soap character is called a c**t? Deleting a post which you deem to be "low brow" and "gratuitous", when in reality it was simply expressing disdain for an extremely polarizing soap character is censorship, no matter what silly way you try and spin it.

I'm not overreacting, I just find it amusing that a post calling Ian Beale a c**t was deleted because it was "gratuitous". Ian Beale's CHARACTER is "gratuitous"

And nah, it's not a big deal. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

The look on her face and the way she just blurted it out was pretty horrifying to be honest and I couldn't make sense of anything she said out of shock! :P
