MHTO was a crappy single choice, always was.

1. Notorious

2. All Fired Up

-- album release --

3. Faster

4. Get Ready, Get Set

*end*

I disagree; MHTO is a good song and had good publicity with their performance on children in need but I wouldn't say faster is the better single option to release. Get Ready Get Set, they should have DEFIANTLY released that!

But it had shockingly bad airplay, despite being play listed by Radio 1! Imo...

1. Notorious (Not OA/OS)

2. All Fired Up

3. Faster

----ALBUM RELEASE----

4. Get Ready, Get Set

5. My Heart Takes Over or Last Call

After listening to 'One Shot' earlier for the first time in years, I must admit it's probably the best song of their career. The power of that ".....CON-STANT-LY" kinda gives me goosebumps.

LOL @ 30 Days, My Heart Takes Over, Gentleman, If This Is Love, Missing You, Forever Is Over, Issues and Just Can't Get Enough being singles over One Shot, White Lies, Faster, Get Ready Get Set, Wordshaker and Here Standing. Such a contrast in quality between singles and album tracks.

You can't say it's a good single choice when it goes in at #15 and is their lowest or 2nd lowest selling single (idk how it's sold in comparison to Gentleman off the top of my head), with the album released the week afterwards going in at #23...

The album might have went in at #23 but it did sell almost double what LFTW sold on its debut week. I'm not agreeing with either of you though. I think MHTO was a good song, and I fail to see why it flopped :( but then I also agree that itvwad obviously a bad single choice since it did flop.

I always thought 'My Heart Takes Over' was a bit risky to release the album off the back of, and more like the sort of song that should be used to sell the album afterwards like 'Issues' did.

I think it's a far stronger ballad than 'Issues', but then again that was 3 years previously so times change and it may not have worked as well.

I understand the logic behind the MHTO release. Power ballads tend to do quite well and had it been a hit it probably would've stuck around for a while, helping to move the album. It just didn't connect with the public unfortunately. They should've gone with Faster next (As much as I love Get Ready, Get Set and think it's one of their best songs, I think it's a bit raunchy for them to release) and if that flopped then they should've moved on. If it did well they should've done a re-release with 30 Days and a couple other new tracks.

Here Standing is a second rate No Air and One Shot is a bit boring. Despite them being fan favorites I can't imagine they would've sold any more than Forever Is Over. Had they released another single it should've been Lose Control or Wordshaker.

In regards to Headlines!, they moved on when they should've. Karma and Puppet are nice album tracks but would not function as singles. It was best for them to leave off on a high note with the success of Higher.

Oh I understand what you mean, but OYR was out in a busier time of year where sales are higher, plus album sales in general were higher in 2011 than in 2013, hence why it has better sales ~

One Shot is a bit boring.

1. OH HELL NO!!! :o

2. They had a new version of One Shot on Headlines which they could have released (they MUST have known it was a fan favourite) and then the re-release had Here Standing and Lose Control so it wasn't like they were completely stuck for choices. I daresay One Shot or Here Standing would have been a big hit. The Sats were very popular in 2010, it was probably their best year yet in terms of sales, airplay and popularity. Another single would probably have helped the album go platinum.

'Here Standing' after 'Higher' probably would've gone top 20 at least in January with the lack of releases and given the album a massive sales push. It was a missed opportunity!
I remember a lot of people thinking One Shot would be released after Higher due to its inclusion on Headlines! People compared it to Radar by Britney (On Blackout and Circus). I remember I was expecting that too.

Work was like #22 and people still love it, what's your point?

Work sold over 100k - almost double what MHTO sold, and was the 5th single on an album that had already gone Platinum - I'd call it a small hit. My Heart Takes Over was a pre-album release, which should sell well, and pretty much flopped.

I've always thought these two tracks are like the most overrated tracks from the girls, along with Keep Her and Fall on Chasing Lights, but then that's just me.
