I buy almost everything digitally, but for artists I particularly like I'll get a physical copy. Probably about an 80/20 split.

That's pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

Only physical, but Music market is officially dead in Russia, so I didn't buy any albums in 2013 year.

Both, but, I don't know why people think download an album is stupid (other forums), A LOT of people now use iphones for music, if I had no car (where is the only place i listen to physical albums) I wouldn't buy physical's.

I use my ipod in my car so have no need for physicals at all. I have a collection of thousands of cds but realised a cpl of years ago not only was it taking up unnessessary space but was not very environmentally friendly so bit the bullet and buy all my albums digitally now. The big test will be Kylies new album as I have a huge collection of her albums/singles.

I prefer to buy physically. But laziness usually takes over.

Physical

I bought about 4 albums digital, but ended up lurchasing them physical too, so digital is a waste of money for me

Physical definitely. Firstly as I will always want a back-up plan in case iTunes goes wrong or goes altogether etc and also in the past when I've attempted to download full albums I've failed to obtain every track, despite complaining and being given renewed access to the download to try again, so to me physicals will always give me more confidence. Though having said that I only really buy Now albums (as a physical back-up of most singles now that CD singles are never stocked) and the odd reduced album nowadays.

Tracks downloaded from iTunes are stored elsewhere on your hard drive and not within the iTunes software. A while ago I had to un-install then re-install iTunes and all my downloads were still there.

And surely, if you've got anything worth keeping, you back up your hard drive regularly.

There's something about having a physical that's better than a download. Well, to me, the sound quality seems superior, for one thing.

However, it's great to be able to download most tunes from history or from the World. No more visiting a shop in say Soho or ordering a disc, coz it's not in the chart, or of chart acts, etc.

I'm surprised that it seems that not more folks download non chart songs/albums, since access restrictions have somewhat been lifted, but this is a pop site, so guess that might give that impression.

Have edited the last line, as I think I sounded a bit pompous

I buy albums physically - I like the artwork and lyrics as well as the CD - then I put it into my computer and then add the songs I want to my iPod - I have downloaded a few albums when they've been cheap but I usually end up getting them on physical anyway.
