I don't like queen or autotune baby. I'd rather have some remixes of living for love.

In an interview before the Grammy Awards kicked off, Madonna said:

"It was an interesting process, because it was kinda like the music came out unready and people commented on it and even though I was p**sed that I got hacked and s**t got leaked I was like, ‘Ooh, I better change this’. It actually helped guide me a little bit."

Which is something I think we considered being a bit of a silver lining to the leaks, although some thought more that the leaks were purposely done in order to test the water so to speak!

If only that were REMOTELY TRUE. She didn't change the shit songs at all and changed the songs people were positive about for the worse.
I'm not too fussed on the three new tracks. I was hoping for something a little more...iconic...from 'Iconic' - I was expecting more than an extract clip of Tyson speaking. None of them are bad though so that's something. 'Hold Tight' could be a grower.

I agree on the three tracks actually. None of them really stand out on the album, so they all make odd choices for instant grats.

'Joan of Arc' is growing on me, and the other two i enjoy anyway, but none are highlights.

Several plays DEEP and I am ready to reveal my pared down tracklist, which I can confirm is an 8/10 and will forever be known as The Album Formerly Known As Rebel Heart (this is actually my playlist name). They are in the original track order because I cannae be bothered with any of that crap as I'll only be listening on shuffle.

01 Living For Love

02 Devil Pray

03 Ghosttown

04 Unapologetic Bitch

05 Hold Tight

06 Joan Of Arc

07 Messiah

08 Rebel Heart

09 Beautiful Scars

10 Addicted

11 HeartBreakCity

12 Wash All Over Me

13 Inside Out

14 Borrowed Time

My ideal version would probably be

1. Living For Love (3rd single)

2. Devil Pray

3. Unapologetic Birch

4. Illuminati

5. Bitch I'm Madonna (4th single + album re-release)

6. Hold Tight

7. Joan of Arc

8. Ikonec

9. Holy Water

10. Inside Out

11. Best Night (2nd single)

12. Veni Vidi Vici

13. Rebel Heart

14. Beautiful Scars

15. Queen (1st single)

16. Borrowed Time

17. Addicted

(The Blah Deluxe Edition)

18. Ghosttown

19. HeartBreakCity

20. Wash All Over Me

21. S.E.X.

(The RebelPoop: Re-Poop: Repoopeded: Airbrushed To Hell And Back pt. I SuperDeluxe Edition)

22. Body Shop

23. Messiah

24. Graffiti Heart

25. Autotune Baby

I'm really loving this album. 'Queen' and 'Best Night' entered my main playlist the other day. 'Illuminati', 'Bitch I'm Madonna' and 'Devil Pray' still there but about to get canned tho oops. I always skip those these days anyway~

The lack of love for Body Shop & Graffiti Heart :(
It really is an album of two halves, there's the nice, age appropriate balladry (which is still a bit lyrically dumb) and then the rancid sex tracks that even Miley Cyrus would find distasteful and crass. Even back during her SEX and Erotica days she was never CRASS.

This is how I feel about 'Joan of Arc'. Its message and production are great, but the verses are too similar to poetry by 13 year olds when they try to fit any appropriate rhyming words together.

UK Wednesday Midweeks

122. Hold Tight

140. Joan of Arc

161. Iconic (ft. Chance the Rapper & Mike Tyson)

Nothing was as bad as rhyming 'city' with 'shitty' in the original HeartBreakCity. That is mind bogglingly terrible.

That's even worse than 'York' and 'dork' in 'I Like New York'. :P At least that song was seemingly intended to be a bit of a piss-take.

I loved when heartbreak city ended with the line 'and I still feel shitty'

So relatable !!!

These three tracks are growers ! I don't have the finished final leak but am reading amazing things about beautiful scars!!!

'Beautiful Scars' is my favourite album track. It shouldn't really be, because i don't usually fall for her plucky, flimsy songs too much, but this is executed so exquisitely that i can't help but adore it. It's such a simple song and message but sung incredibly whimsically and truthfully. Absolutely beautiful song and so relatable

I think this is a very strong album, having finally listened through it. Not a classic by any means but there are plenty of classic Madonna moments hiding in there. I do wish most/all of the sex themed tracks were removed though, they're almost universally bad.

Addicted, Rebel Heart (I've got used to the new version but still don't think it's as good as the demo), Wash All Over Me, Living For Love, Ghosttown and Joan Of Arc are all really good.

Flawless selection.
