The time has come, Animals! Time to commence the countdown of what BuzzJack believe to be the best Ke$ha songs. At the very least, half of the results should be up tonight. But let's see how everything goes!
January 16, 201411 yr Author ?v=XKYSXI6Y01Y 31. Crazy Beautiful Life (6.72) 32. Stephen (6.63) 33. Dinosaur (6.60) 34. Gold Trans Am (6.59) 35. Blah Blah Blah (feat 3OH!3) (6.52) 36. Dirty Love (feat Iggy Pop) (5.89) 37. Grow A Pear (5.84) 38. VIP (5.74) 39. Boots & Boys (5.23) And so we start with what you all (and admitedly, most people) believe are the dregs of Ke$ha's back catalogue. Amusingly, both of the collaborations in this rate end up towards the bottom of the pile at 35 and 36. 'Boots & Boys' wins the 'wooden spoon' award for last place (unless there's something more Ke$ha related than a wooden spoon that's appropriate for the last placer, but I shall leave that to you!). Also in this section are the 'not exactly good but kinda funny' tracks in Ke$ha's repetoire, 'Dinosaur' and 'Gold Trans Am', the latter featuring a lyttony of comic innuendo (but who doesn't wanna go for a "Freedom Ride" along someone's "Southern Highway"). And the 'best of the worst' song "Crazy Beautiful Life" completes this section.
January 16, 201411 yr Author ?v=TgbkRbH0PT4 21. Backstabber (7.58) 22. Love Into The Light (7.39) 23. Crazy Kids (7.38) 24. Kiss N Tell (7.37) 25. Sleazy (7.27) 26. Party At A Rich Dude's House (7.17) 27. Only Wanna Dance With You (7.16) 28. Wonderland (7.14) 29. Out Alive (6.91) 30. C U Next Tuesday (6.81) Excuse me while I have a Calum Sande bias moment And here in this section we find a mix of the underrated (such gems as 'Love Into The Light', 'Sleazy' and 'Only Wanna Dance With You') and the overrated, in the grand scheme of things, of 'C U Next Tuesday', 'Out Alive' and 'Backstabber'. Crazy Kids here appears as the first single to drop out. Not even a will.I.am remix could save it (or prevent it flopping further, I'll let you make up your own minds on that front). As usual excession and expletives are the common theme in most of these tracks. Edited January 16, 201411 yr by LexC
January 16, 201411 yr WHOA THIS IS GOING FAST. Nothing TOO essential in the first section but the SECOND ONE :( ONLY WANNA DANCE WITH YOU :( Can we go one by one or two by two please, you can't just rush Ke$ha Alex, GAWD.
January 16, 201411 yr Um what at Out Alive and Love Into The Light :( Hope C'mon isn't in the top 3. Shouldn't even be top 20 but hey.
January 16, 201411 yr SLOW DOWN want to comment on ALL of these! 'Love into the Light' at #22 is crappy and surprising. It's so atmospheric and the way that final chorus kicks in is majestic.
January 16, 201411 yr 'Love Into The Light' only at #22? I can't even. 'Crazy Kids' #23? Edited January 16, 201411 yr by luk≡
January 16, 201411 yr Wasn't 'Blah Blah Blah' the first single to be voted out? I do think 'Gold Trans Am', 'Out Alive', 'Party At A Rich Dude's House', 'Only Wanna Dance With You' and 'Love Into The Light' deserved higher but what can ya do.
January 16, 201411 yr Maybe people really won't be here for her taking risks with singles @ LITL? :( 31. Crazy Beautiful Life (6.72) 32. Stephen (6.63) 33. Dinosaur (6.60) 34. Gold Trans Am (6.59) 35. Blah Blah Blah (feat 3OH!3) (6.52) 36. Dirty Love (feat Iggy Pop) (5.89) 37. Grow A Pear (5.84) 38. VIP (5.74) 39. Boots & Boys (5.23) Time after time, try dodging all the douche-bag guys *.* 'Crazy Beautiful Life' the CLEAR fave here.
January 16, 201411 yr Say WHAT at 'Boots & Boys' being so low? I mean, it's not her best but it's far more fun and has much better production than some of these. And 'VIP'! JUSTICE FOR SONGS NEAR THE END OF ANIMAL. 'Out Alive' and 'Love Into the Light' ridiculously low too, two of the best Warrior tracks. IT'S ALL WRONG LEX DO IT AGAIN
January 16, 201411 yr Author 19. Wherever You Are (7.70) 20. Past Lives (7.64) IN FAIRNESS, IN FAIRNESS, these results are all very close. Both of these songs don't go down your usual route of Ke$ha songs being about excess and decadence, but evidently, you lot just don't like things to be different! You only have yourselves to blame. Past Lives was particularly polarising, recieving both a 0 and 2 11s.
January 16, 201411 yr 'Past Lives' is pretty beautiful. She's flawless at ballads so even one of her weakest rises above a lot of her other material. Can't wait for the Toby-less results too ^_^
