I'll miss Julie.

I'll miss her gorgeous outfits! I really like Katy Cavanagh (she was excellent in The Cops) but after a promising start - the character of Julie just seems to have treaded water (not the actress's fault). It was good to see Brian Packham back (I know I'm in the minority in liking him - but he did come out with some funny lines).

There are many many bad things about Corrie right now, but that episode just now was done so fantastically well, so much so that I shed a few tears during that final scene, and it takes a lot for me to cry at TV. RIP Deirdre :(
Whilst I had a tear. I thought the acting was bad.

I thought all around the Deirdre reveal was fine (especially Eileen Derbyshire - I was particularly watching Emily's face when Liz gave the news and it was brilliant). The final scene with Bill Roache and Simon Gregson was great and unexpected.

Oh and Kate Ford was good too! It was a nice touch having Audrey call Tracy Tracyluv!

I think tonight's episode was a masterclass in Corrie at it's best, albeit a very emotional best. I thought Eileen Derbyshire was especially good, and was glad they remembered that Emily had thought of her like a daughter and that it was important that Emily would be particularly affected. I also liked a few of the other touches that they put in, Audrey saying 'Tracy, luv' and in a similar way to how Dierdre/Annie would have said it too, but beyond that when Tracy broke right down and got up to fall into Ken's arms and later when she looked at the cake and said 'Oh, mam!' both of those moments where played by Kate with the same style (if that's the right word?) of emotional acting that Annie herself would have played them with, especially the 'Oh, mam' which was so remeniscent of Dierdre's 'Oh, Ken!' whenever she was upset about something. It must have been so hard for all the cast to record tonight's episode too.
Yeah, agreed about the little touches that referenced Deidre and I liked Ken and Emily's scenes too, as well as Bev's initial scene. As far as Stuart Blackburn episodes go, it was a fitting tribute (still had faults of feeling quite disjointed but that's all episodes since The Hat took over).

I too will miss Julie and Katy Cavanagh is a good actress that was done her best with poor scripts on occasions.

The death of Deirdre was very disjointed, i cant help but feel it was far too rushed. I believe a few more added touches would have helped make the episodes standout more such as Deirdre becoming ill off screen and again off screen Ken and Tracey spent time with her, them returning to the street informing Liz and Emily would have fitted better and in my own opinion a greater tribute. Ken or Tracey not going to visit her once and never seeing her since she left weakened the scenes but that is only my opinion. Its done now and it is what it is. I without doubt believe all the scenes were extremely difficult for the cast to record and i applaud them for that.

I thought the added Thursday episode was good too. Not sure what to think about the door being blown open to suggest Deirdre's spirit - obviously there were good intentions but it came across a little cringy, especially because of Steve mumbling to himself.

Certainly not been without fault - someone on DS pointed out there wasn't a policeman in sight! - but it was the best that could be done with The Hat in charge.

I really liked the Wednesday episode, really moving and I was more shocked by Kate Fords acting :o

However, please can we have less Platts I haven't seen an episode recently where I have watched that they haven't featured...I'm so sick of this David/Kylie/Callum nonsense

Kate Ford was good again tonight! The reading of that letter brought a tear to my eye!
Corrie was back on top form tonight. About time too! Kate Ford continues to prove that she can deliver the goods when given the right situation and the right lines.

Kate Ford has been brilliant this past week or so especially tonights!

Bev would be a welcome stay also, we need a couple more older characters to stick about, maybe Blanche's friends? Really does feel like a gap after we lost Betty, Blanche and now Deirdre.

Anyone know why we're suddenly getting extra Thursday episodes? One again at 8.30 tonight and one next Thursday too. Is there a major sporting event on ITV in August which means they'll lose episodes?
What was with the random standing ovation? That's so disrespectful in a church.

I thought it was cheesy but why's it disrespectful?

Deirdre's funeral was very badly done if you ask me...

The church cingregation clapped after Earl Spencer's speech at Diana's funeral, after those outside had started it.

The "siege" last night was dreadful. I thought Leanne was good - the actress clearly tried to make the scene work but there was no escaping the cliche dialogue and bad scripting.
