It was probably one of the most emotional episodes of Corrie in a while.

 

 

That final scene with David telling the kids was truly heartbreaking, brought me close to tears :(

Brilliant episodes tonight. It's not very often a soap has me in tears. Jack was as always brilliant in his scenes 👍

Jack was (again) great with telling the kids but the lad who plays Max just can't act at all so it didn't really work the way it should have

you have to give corrie credit that was heartbreaking. Kylie was such a good character that she has left a gaping hole in the show.

Got to agree about the whole "never been done before" thing; that did spoil the excitement as to what the cause of death would be, particularly when it was because of some no mark who is a floppier thug than Callum was. Still, the fact that was the end of episode 1 did make episode 2 more impactful as you could forget about that disappointment and could watch just the beautifully portrayed goodbye scenes with David and Kylie.

 

I was so transfixed on both of their performances and both showed so much emotion just in their eyes and their voices. Even the dialogue was good and what I'd expect people to say when in that situation, and that's down to the usually terrible writing department, not the actors.

 

Actually I thought Gail was fantastic too, especially when she was talking about Brian's death and the impact on Nick. Felt like the return of the old Gail. It also felt telling that David didn't follow through with Gail's advice though.

Katherine Kelly has confirmed she won't be returning to Corrie as Becky for Kylie's funeral. She's filming for the Doctor Who spin-off Class in Cardiff.
