January 31, 201411 yr Considering YouTube views were the main reason 'Harlem Shake' was a big hit, it's probably fair to assume there aren't any length requirements :P
February 1, 201411 yr Great to see The 1975 entering! Also 'Brave' matches its previous peak and will likely re-peak next week with the Grammy boost.
February 1, 201411 yr Absolutely shocked at 'Chocolate' becoming a Hot 100 hit, one of the last British acts I would ever have expected to cross over. Then again, 'Chocolate' was a pretty huge hit in the UK so it's less shocking than if, say, 'Sex' had charted in the US :P Nice to see 'Do I Wanna Know?' is sticking around as well, would like it if that could make the top 50 eventually.
February 1, 201411 yr The US generally like non conventional UK artists though... (obvs 1D is an exception) Ellie Goulding, Florence & The Machine, Arctic Monkeys, Adele. The likes of Rita Ora, Cheryl Cole, Olly Murs don't interest the US whatsoever.

The likes of Rita Ora, Cheryl Cole, Olly Murs don't interest the US whatsoever. Arctic Monkeys and Olly Murs are bad examples considering AM never had a Hot 100 hit until a few weeks ago and Olly Murs had a fairly long-running top 30 hit as well as a top 20 album. I'm not really sure how Adele is 'non-conventional' either but there you go. I'll give you Ellie and Florence but they're just a bit 'quirky', I thought The 1975 would be physically offputting to American consumers due to the accent.
February 1, 201411 yr So happy I made it to number 1 !!!!!! :yahoo: why would you come on to an internet forum and pretend to be a song?!
February 1, 201411 yr Author BILLBOARD HOT 100 (billboard chart date 8th February 2014) 41 33 Imagine Dragons - Radioactive - *74 weeks* 47 42 Awolnation - Sail - *73 weeks* Not sure if Sail is going to make 76 weeks, but Radioactive definitely will with a big climb expected next week.
February 1, 201411 yr :cheer: G'won 'Chocolate' making the Hot 100! I had no idea it was being pushed over there so this is a very pleasant surprise. Hope it rises further. Re: The band doing well in the States, I would think it's a testament to the strength of the song rather than people connecting to the band/their Britishness in any way. It's got such an infectious melody that I think it would do well sung by anyone (even Jessie J *shudder*). I would expect this to likely be a one hit wonder situation but I could be wrong.
